Strange Observations

Welcome to the Observations section of Zelda Secrets and Oddities. In this section you will find observations, of course! Below are a list of strange tips organized by games that have been submitted by viewers.

This section is full of strange things that people have noticed in the game, from peculiar design elements to strange things that characters say that don't seem to match up with the rest of the story. Not all of them are answered, but if you do have an answer or even just a theory, then please feel free to submit it, and I will post it below the original submittion based on it.

Please note that a few topics have red asteriks beside them. What is this about? The marked oddity is off limits for futher discussion. Not because I am against posting your theories, but I simply do not have enough room. The oddities that have been marked simply received way too many theories that weren't really getting to any eventual conclusion or answer. So, I have shut them off. The only way I will post anything further on them is if you have an undeniable and highly supported conclusion.

Have an observation to submit? Then feel free to jump down to downwards and fill out our submittion form. Please pay attention to the rules stated above it. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!

The Legend of Zelda: A Hyrule Adventure

Poor Translation
Sent in by Ganon751
If you wait for a while at the title screen it will turn black and the poorly translated story will scroll. Here's how it reads: MANY YEARS AGO PRINCE DARKNESS "GANNON" STOLE ONE OF THE trIFORCE WITH POWER. PRINCESS ZELDA HAD ONE OF THE trIFORCE WITH WISDOM. SHE DIVIDED IT INTO "8" UNITS TO HIDE IT FROM "GANNON" BEFORE SHE WAS CAPTURED. GO FIND THE "8" UNITS "LINK" TO SAVE HER. After you see this it will show the items from the game and their names.
Zelda... The Movie?
Sent in by Sangokyu
Shigero Miyamoto (the guy who made up Zelda) said that he was inspired to make the Zelda series by the movie "Legend".
Don't Hit the Old Guys
Sent in by Dark Grapefruit
I remember this from the old Zelda and I don't see it up there so... If you hit any of the old guys who tell you things, the fires on either side of them will start shooting fireballs at you.
Full Zelda on AC!
Sent in by Sangokyu
If you search really hard, or get a e-reader card, you can find the original Legend of Zelda for Animal Crossing! AC saves you games, so you can get to Ganon all over again on your Gamecube!
The Dungeon 6 Passage
Visit Quest 1's Dungeon #6. Before you go inside, look around. There is a collection of Armost everywhere. Go to the upper-left group and bring the top-left one to life. He will reveal a hidden passage. If you enter it, you will enter Dungeon 6! If you leave, you will exit out the regular entrance way. In Quest 2, this Dungeon simply becomes a spot to earn some quick rupees, however, the passage is still there and acts the same as if you entered the building. Strange... was something intended to be there, but was never added?

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

The Chicken Lady
Inside the house of the lady wearing the blue dress who shouts for help if she meets you is a chicken under a pot. Use the Magic Powder on it and it will turn into the blue dress lady and will speak to you.
Peoples' Stupidity
At the beginning of the game your Uncle's final words are "Zelda is your..." Many people like to say that it might be "Zelda is your sister" despite the fact that it is confirmed that in the Japanese version it says in entirity "Zelda is your destiny". Second of all, one of the Crystal Maidens makes it a clear point that you are the last in the line of the Hylian Heroes. Why would people say that Zelda is his sister if Link is the last in this line?
Wild Zoras
I have no idea where this came from, but I heard it from a friend. I am told Zoras are actually kind water folk but the magic of Agahnim is what has turned them evil. I thought this was interesting, though I have no way of confirming it.
English Dub Screw-ups!
In the Quest History of the English version of the game the idiots who did the translation totally screwed up the names of the dungeons! Here is the proper name listing with the name given in the game, respectively: Hyrule Castle = Castle Dungeon, Hyrule Castle Tower = Castle of Hyrule, Eastern Palace = East Palace, Desert Palace = Desert Palace, Tower of Hera = Mountain Tower, Palace of Darkness = Dark Palace, Flooded Palace = Swamp Palace, Skeleton Forest = Skull Woods, Blind's Hideout = Thieves' Town, Ice Lake Cavern = Ice Palace, Misery Mire = Misery Mire, Turtle Rock = Turtle Rock, Tower of Ganon = Ganon's Tower. However, in the game itself the names, what few they give, are correct. This is just found in the Quest History. (Those who wish to argue with me that the 'correct' names I've listed are actually incorrect, DON'T EVEN trY IT! I've had proof given to me by five experts of the games. I don't WANT to hear it.)
Typo
Sent in by Spencer
Whenever you encounter a large faerie, she misspells "soothe". She forgets the "E". Looks like she needs to go back to school. MagicFox: Well, perhaps not quite. There is such a word as "sooth", however, it doesn't mean what the faerie is saying, so it is still a typo.
Another Typo
Sent in by Dark Grapefruit
In the Ice Palace, one of the tiles that gives you info has a mistake. It says "you should be careful if you do not have possess the medicine of magic." Have possess? How did they let that one in?
Zelda's Lullaby
Sent in by Sensei
I'm probably the only one who had never noticed this before, but the song that plays after you save one of the Crystal Maidens is, in fact, Zelda's Lullaby.
Lefty Link
Sent in by Spencer
Whenever Link is facing up, left, or down, he slashes his sword with his left hand. However, if you turn Link to the right and slash your sword, he does it with his right hand. Nintendo claimed that he always sticks his shield towards Death Mountain, but I think they were lazy and didn't feel like changing the entire sprite. More by MagicFox: This same effect can be seen on the Gameboy games as well. Link remains left handed until he is facing towards the right.
Maple & Syrup
Sent in by The Eighth Sage
Have you ever noticed that the Potion shop owners are none other than Maple and Syrup from the Oracle games? How about that? MagicFox: Actually, it's vice-versa, the Oracle games is just a collaberation of the other games. ::Blinks:: I knew the girl in the house was Maple but are you sure the witch is Syrup, though, based on what I just said I am willing to believe that but do you have proof? ^_^ The game never mentions anyone's name except the main characters.
Desert of Mystery's Mystery
In the Desert of Mystery (the desert located in the Light World that you have to cross to get to the dungeon with the second pendant) near the entrance is a patch of hard-packed dirt that doesn't look like sand. If you get it all within the screen you will notice that it takes the shape of an octopus-like monster. What's up with this??
Movie Music to Flute Music?
Sent in by R. J. Smith
Tonight on Turner Classic Movies, there was an old 1954 movie called Men of the Fighting Lady (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0047230/). I heard, note-for-note, the Zelda 3 Flute Boy music playing in the background at one point! I thought this was an interesting piece of Zelda trivia you'd like to know about :-).
It's Still a Duck?
Sent in by Linkdamasta
When you defeat Agahnim for the second time, he turns into Ganon and then into some kind of bat. When he flies off you play the flute and the duck comes... IN THE DARK WORLD! It hadn't even transformed!

The Legend of Zelda: LttP / Four Swords

Cultural Mix-Up
Sent in by HyperLink
This isn't a secret or glitch, but it is the mother of oddities. When you beat Vaati's Palace (I did it with only one other person) and the credits are done, the french word "fin" (translation: 'end') fills up the screen. ???? A French word ending an English-dubbed Japanese game. Huh.

The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

A Picture of the Sun?
I don't know if I'm the only one that has noticed this, nor do I think it has any major significance, but when you look at the Croc's painting in Animal Village... doesn't that look like the sun at the end of the game. It looks more so like this in the original version than it does the DX.
Windfish to Lord Jabu-Jabu
Crossing over of games, but... does anyone else think that Lord Jabu-Jabu might just so happen to be the Windfish (or the other way around, whichever way you want to look at it). I know Jabu-Jabu doesn't have wings but... the Zoras seem to find something demi-godish about him.
Game Advertising
There are three characters within this game that are from other games: Prince Richard, Princess Toadstool, and Mamu! Well, Yoshi could be called one, too, I suppose. Princess Toadstool, Yoshi, and Mamu all come from the Mario Brothers games (Mamu was a boss). Prince Richard was in a game that was far less popular that never made it to our shores. Also, there are quite a few enemies in this game that are Mario Brothers related, too: Goombas, Cheep-Cheeps...
Mr. Write!
Sent in by Josh Surkosky
Greetings! In regards to your Game Advertising section on LA [Oddity Above], many people miss Dr. Wright. He was the green haired advisor in SimCity for the SNES. Just thought you'd like to know that he is in Link's Awakening. I think he is referred to Mr. Write in the game. You meet him in the trading sequence when you deliver a letter from his penpal in the animal village. MagicFox: I would miss that one since I've never touched SimCity games. Well, tack this one onto the Oddity above! Perhaps that's what the Instruction Booklet meant when they said "Doesn't he look a little familiar."
The Tale of the Tail
If you go to the Tail Cave before you have the key and press up to the keyhole it says the dungeon is called "Tale Cave".
Tut Tut
Sent in by Kuriboh
Ever notice that Link isn't wearing any pants? Its true! Look at the game guides!!!!!! I'm not sure if this strikes true for the other games, but Link is bottomless. At least the tunic is long... MagicFox: Hahahaha! Alright. Yes, this has been a storm of controversy for some time. Some people, including me, like to think that Link is DEFINITELY wearing tights. It is the suitable garment that usually accompanies the Tunic... but... alright, I'll admit it, in the pictures it does not look like he is wearing tights (though he is in OoT).
Reply to Tut Tut
Sent in by Chris
Link doesn't wear pants at all. Trust me, if you play Super Smash Bros. Melee, make Link do a Spin Attack. When he's done and your sword shines before he gets back into regular fighting position, pause the game and zoom and look under him (eeeww.. luckily they censored everything there or it would be...not going there).
Unhanded Sword
Sent in by theatrebrad
Have you ever noticed that when Link swings his sword, at one point he is actually not touching it at all. I noticed it while fighting an enemy. I swung, then the enemy came out, pausing me in mid swing. I guess not touching the sword at all looks more realistic...?
Extra Key in Level 3
Sent in by The Eighth Sage
I didn't see it up here, but if you're one of those "must get everything" types of players, there is one more key in the Key Cavern than needed. Usually the one that ends up being an extra is a key that's right before the boss room. Kill all the Keese and it will drop down, even if you've already gotten all the others.
Mombo Mario?
Sent in by Adept of Lunord
When you learn the song, Mombo's Mombo, and play it, it sounds kinda like part of Mario's theme song if you listen....

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

Message in a Bottle*
When you receive the letter to let you to Jabu-Jabu it is clearly signed "Princess Ruto". However, Ruto argues that she ever wrote any letter. Is this a lie? Or is there something going on here that we don't understand?
Answer (to above Oddity)
Sent in by Kevin
Answer to Message in a Bottle - Gannondorf was the one who wrote the message. I got it from the Nintendo site. It's ok if you don't believe me. More from MagicFox: Hrrrm... that's interesting... a peculiar thought to think about, but I'm not so sure I can believe it on several grounds. Why would Ganon do it? He didn't know about Link, nor probably did he know about Ruto. Hrrrm... still, thanks for the interesting perspective!
Answer #2 (to above Oddity)
Sent in by Misterboy
I'm surprised nobody else has pointed it out. I don't know exactly where or when as it's been ages since I played the game, but the mystery of who wrote the message in the Bottle (as it's not Ruto) is explained in the game. I do believe it is Ganon who wrote it in an attempt to lure the King or some such nonsense. Anyway, if you were to play the game again and read everything carefully, it makes it all clear. MagicFox: I have no recollection of seeing such an explanation even in playing the game. I will go through the game and try to look and if I find it, I will place it up here. In the meantime, if someone does know the EXACT person/location/whatever that says this in the game, please fill out the Oddity form below.
Answer #3 (to above Oddity)
Sent in by Marc
If you pay attention to the rivers in Hyrule Field, it goes from Zora's Fountain to Lake Hylia. I think that the bottle floated down the river and ended up in the lake. As for what Ruto said, she's an idiot.
Back Alley Soldier
In a most unnoticable place, so it is understandable why many people miss him and are surprised to find him! After Ganon has attacked the castle, go through the Back Alleys and you'll find a dieing soldier who gives you a message from Zelda and then dies!! He disappears, though, the moment you receive the Master Sword.
Chicken in the Windmill
This is often known, but... As adult link if you use the Longshot you can hook over to a peg in the Windmill, work your way up, and find the last of the Cuccos. However.... what was the point of this? So much trouble over something so small. Could it possibly be that at one time there was something more to this area? Maybe a Heart Piece?
Chicken in the Windmill - Theory
Sent in by Kojinka
I think the Cucco in the Windmill is one of those things called Easter Eggs. As some of you may know, an Easter Egg in game terms is a secret part of a game that the designers put in for the more clever gamers to find. Therefore, I think it might've had something cool for it during a stage of development, but the designers decided to leave the prize out. They probably left the cucco in the windmill as an "Easter Egg" for the clever gamers to find.
Eagle of Hyrule Castle
If I hear another pathetic rumor about this danged contraption I'm going to scream. The eagle on the first gate in the area of Hyrule Castle. Navi turns green by it indicating something of interest. I've heard Triforce Rumors situated here, at one time a song could be played here to get something, or some silly outrageous thing like that. Did any of them bother to "check" the thing?! IT'S A CLOCK!! IT TELLS THE TIME!! It's as pointless as the Gossip Stones.
Bird with Triforce
It's on the shield, it's painted on signs...it can be found in many places. A Triforce with a bird behind it. I've heard some speculation that "oh maybe this relates to the location of the Triforce. It's up in the air." Once again the stupidity of people amaze me. Let's name that bird Kaepora Gaebora. Now, what does our owl friend help us do through the game? PROTECT THE trIFORCE?!! ::Rolls her eyes:: The bird is just a symbol of the Owl guarding the Triforce. Nothing any more complicated than that! Want more proof? Play LA and in the Southern Face Shrine you'll see a picture of the Owl that bears remarkable resemblance - and he is definitely protecting the island.
Bird with Triforce Theory
Sent in by HyperLink
Looking at the above oddity, the paragraph about the red bird that is painted on a lot of things. Well, if you look on Link's shield (or at Zelda's apron if you find that easier to stare at ;P), there is an upside-down triangle in the bird's claws. Could this symbolize a fourth, uhh, Triforce (though under normal circumstances, it would be called a Quadraforce)??? Who knows? I find it interesting that the bird is holding it, though.
Kaepora's a Sage?*
Sent in by William Givens
If you manage to complete the Mask Game in OoT (You can do so after Jabu-Jabu's Belly by giving the Bunny Hood to the man running around the ranch in Hyrule Field), you get the Mask of Truth. Now, on the ledges above the hedge maze at the Sacred Forest Meadow (where you meet Saria in the Lost Woods) are two Gossip Stones. One of them says that Kaepora Gaebora is a reincarnation of one of the Ancient Sages. People have claimed that Rauru is Kaepora. However, this is impossible, since reincarnation requires the person or being in question to be dead, and Rauru and Kaepora are both alive. Which Sage was he? Nintendo hasn't said yet.
Kaepora's a Sage? - Another Theory
Sent in by PerfectDarknessmon
The whole 're-incarnation' thing was a translation error. I think that 'avatar' would be a better translation. Rauru uses his form of Kaepora to help the destined one. Hope it helps!
Answer to "Kaepora's a Sage?"
Sent in by Y Link
It's easy to whip out the correct answer. Rauru has died at one time. This time as a lone magician trying to stop Ganondorf. The sage now just turned into a owl. After 7 years he at last did learn how to control magic in this shape. He turned back into Rauru again but only for some months before his reincarnation dies out. He turned to the real sage because the other sages couldn't give him the medallion to realese him.Which means, he had to be Rauru to make them believe and to use magic!
Another Answer to "Kaepora's a Sage?"
Sent in by Yoshi
I believe that there is further proof as to why Kaepora Gaebora is NOT Rauru. When you learn the Requiem of Spirit as an adult, notice the large bird that flies overhead. Somehow he looks a LOT like Kaepora Gaebora.
The Triforce
Sent in by Richard Butcher (Slightly edited by MagicFox)
Go to where you got Farores Wind from as an adult. Destroy the rock and jump down the hole. Kill the invisible Skulltulas and go up the ladder. Go to the edge and look all the way into the trees to the left and in the distance you will see the Triforce. More by MagicFox: Actually, it's not the Triforce, just the light shining down on the Deku Sprout. The game's graphic designs only make it look like the Triforce. It's not really that impressive to look at, but go right ahead, it is there.
Creepy Fire Temple Music
Sent in by Maxim Starfe
For some reason in any Gold cartridge version of OoT there will be a different sound track to the Fire Temple. It's more of a cultist chant music. Its kinda creepy, but in a grey cart version the music is different. I'm assuming it's because all the Gold carts were the first releases and stopped production after a little while, while the greys didn't stop coming and were probably revised. MagicFox: Further information: There was some great controversy sprung up about the 'cultist' music being far too close to religious matters. Anyways, the controversy got so heated that Nintendo finally just gave up and in the grey cartridges they changed the music to what most of us now hear. ((The controversy surrounding the music was brought up by the same people who disliked 'blood' use in the game.))
Gold Music on Grey Pak
Sent in by Keruri
I have 2 Ocarina of Time grey paks. One plays the chant song in the Fire Temple and the other plays a different version. I was wondering why the Gold music was on a grey pak. A glitch or something? MagicFox: ::Scratches head:: Wow!! Your grey pak must be one of the very few to have been released before the music edit. I'm impressed!! I have not heard of the music being released on a few grey paks, but that's pretty awesome!!
Muslim Chants
Sent in by Keruri
I was watching a show in Geography class the other day and I heard them chanting some Muslim song. Then I went home and went to the Fire Temple and I heard the same song! MagicFox: That is what the controversy was about!! Congradulations for pinpointing it. This Muslim chant released on a game cartridge fired up the anti-gaming squad and forced Nintendo to change the music into what most of us now hear.
Hole in the Ceiling
Sent in by Maxim Starfe
If you go into first person mode in Daruina's chamber and look at the Ceiling you can see that there is a rectangular hole in it, if you can't see it turn the brightness on your TV up and it will show up. It stops a little ways up, you can tell by shooting arrows up there or making a bombchu go up the wall and into the hole. Another graphical glitch in a rushed game.
Answer to "Hole in the Ceiling"
Sent in by Sangokyu
After you beat King Dodongo, there was supposed to be a place where you fall through the floor into Darunia's Room. I guess the developers decided not to do it but they forgot about the hole.
Hylian Loach?*
Sent in by Josh Surkosky
Greetings once again! Every now and then you see what looks like an eel swimming about in the fishing pond (only as Adult Link). Is it possible to catch this huge monstrosity? Is it really called the Hylian Loach? It is definitely there, you may have to enter and exit multiple times. It won't appear everytime. Anyone have any thoughts? Anyone actually catch it?
Response to Hylian Loach
I'll tell you exactly all that I know. This was just a little bit too big for me to put as a comments extension to the above oddity. So, the Hylian Loach. As even the above oddity states, people claim that you can only see it as Adult Link. However, I myself, have had a very wierd experience with it. It was my first time in the Fishing Pond. I had been fishing for about an hour getting the hang of it all when I caught a HUGE fish that was a 20 pounder - as a KID. The biggest you can actually catch is about a 12 pounder on a normal basis. Not knowing that I had to have my fish weighted before I got anything, I left trying to figure out how to get a prize. So, it was not recorded in my game. I'll say this, it was definitely a weird looking black fish and I remember the weight as clear as anything. I have not seen it as a kid since. Possibly just a glitch. Now, I have definitely seen it on multiple occassions as an Adult. The rumor goes that if you find the sinking lure (available only after you have received the Golden Scale) it makes the Loach easier to catch. However, I have not been capable of hooking him with or without it.
Hylian Loach (Answer #3)
Sent in by Hiro of the elvaan
I managed to catch the Loach as an adult, but I don't remember any special benefit. It was about 35 pounds and is all but impossible to catch without the sinking lure. Finding the sinking lure is fairly easy and can usually be accompished by walking through all of the tight spaces in and around the pond (including the walls).
Two Hylian Loaches
Sent in by Will
When I was at the fishing pond I aw two of them. I mean it! More by MagicFox: I'll take this with a grain of salt, since no one else has ever seen it and it sounds like you are trying to oversell a lie. But if anyone has any proof I'll be willing to believe it.
Two Hylian Loaches Response
Sent in by Tag
The above Oddity about 2 Hylian Loaches is correct. I have seen them, too, and, yes, I have caught one. Took me ages though :). As for the Loaches, it looks as though one is bigger than the other (mother & child, perhaps?), and I found that they appeared at either dawn or dusk.
Hylian Loach (Cross-Game Mayhem)
Sent in by Kitty-Chan
Of course by now everyone knows about the fabled Loach but on a funny note, in Animal Crossing for the Gamecube when a Loach is caught the character asks "do you think it's Hylian?" I personally got a kick out of that. Anju's and Kafei's shirts also make an appearance with the Master Sword.
I found the sinking lure! ;P -Kitty
The Unbeatable Marathon Man
Sent in by holly_berry
While scrolling through the oddities, I was surprised there was nothing on the marathon man. I've beaten the game several times and the purpose of the marathon man has always puzzled me. Has anyone beaten him? Do you have any theories on how or what you get for winning? More by MagicFox: I remember reading off of one site that someone had used the Gameshark to get there in 00 seconds. Even then the Marathon Man said that he still beat Link. However, nothing was given and there has never been any actual "purpose" to this guy that I know of.
Both Ears?
Sent in by Fish
I'm surprised no one spotted this before. If you mess around with the c-up button, you can look at the side side of Link's head. Do this as an adult and look closely at Link's ears. He is wearing earings on both of his ears. Hmm... Is Nintendo trying to tell us somthing here?? -Fish
Need Directions?
Sent in by The Eighth Sage
If you go to Kakariko Village before you go to meet Zelda the first time as a kid, the owl will ask you if you are sure you want to go to Kakariko Village. Get him to go away and go to the Village. When you leave, he'll ask you the exact same thing!
Bloodshed
Sent in by Marc
Look at the floors of the Shadow Temple and the Bottom of the Well. There's blood on the floor. Huh, they complained when Ganondorf coughed up blood, but they didn't see the big puddles of blood on the floor.
A Way to Bribe a Castle Guard
Sent in by yutkazuta_san
I did this once before a very long time ago. I barely remember it but I did it. You know the Gate Guard in Hyrule Castle who guards the giant gate? Well you don't have to sneak into the castle. You can bribe him. I think I payed him so much money and he let me through. I think this is how I got him to bring the money thing up: keep talking to the guard (don't shut up, keep talking this will take a long time), then he will say something like "okay, if you give me 50 rupees, Ill let you pass" and he opened up the gate. Years later, I kept trying to do the same things in new files, but it didn't work. ^_^'
Funny Noise
Sent in by Ashila
I do this all the time just for fun. Go to the Skulltulla house and Z-Target the big one. Hit him with your sword and he will swing back and forth. While he is doing this, go behind him and hit his soft side. He will make the funniest noise in the entire game and be stunned for a few seconds. Beware, though, he will hurt you if you come too close. So will the children!
Solid Sky?
Sent in by Someone
I'm surprised this hasn't appeared yet...Go to Hyrule Field and put a bomb next to a Gossip Stone. Get a few meters away and watch the stone go sailing straight up into the polygonal sky. Keep watching even when it vanishes and you should see it shatter eventually. Maybe Hyrule is in some plastic bubble or something?!? This hasn't happened to me yet but it works with my friend's game. MagicFox: I thought it just explodes, but who knows.
Gerudo's Face
Sent in by Orion
After freeing the Carpenters at Gerudo's Fortress, jump onto a box and talk to one of the masked Gerudos. She will look up at you and say somehing. Jump down from the box and look at her. She will be still be looking up and you can kind of see what her face looks like under the mask. Pointless, but semi-interesting.
Zora's Cave
Sent in by Orion
As Child Link, go to Zora's Domain. After going down the ladder, jump into the water and swim left. Look down and you will see what appears to be a small underwater cave. It's just too far down to dive to, and there appears to be no reason for it's existance. I've always wanted to use the Gameshark to go there as an adult and use the Iron Boots to see what's inside, but never got around to it.
Reply to "Zora's Cave"
Sent in by Korii
I have read in many places that if you adjust the tones and colors on your TV, you will see that it is just the texture and coloring of the cliff wall and it is NOT a cave (which disproves another theory of the Triforce).
Zelda, Malon, and Talon Like Mario!
Sent in by Connor McGinnis
I haven't actually seen these Oddities myself, but I heard of them from NintendoLand.com, so I believe they're true, but I will investigate all the same. Here it is: If you look into the windows of the little garden where you meet young Zelda, you can see pictures of Mario and friends. Also, if you look closely at Malon and Talon, you can see that they are wearing Bowser-shaped medallions on their chests. (They may be hard to see, I don't know.) MagicFox: This is very much accurate! In fact, if you use your Slingshot and hit the portraits in the window, you will get 20 Rupees.
Purple Cuccos!
Sent in by Darkblade Sheikah
I'm surprised no one has done this. As kid Link, beat the Bombchu Bowling game. Then, walk so you can see the bowling area in first person view. The cuccos that block your bombchus have turned purple! When they turn in a certain direction, thier tails appear light greenish. Wierd.
Impa Born in Her Own Town
Sent in by Johnny
When you first meet Impa, outside she will tell you she was born in Kakariko Village. Someone in Kakariko Village says Impa founded the village. Which is it!?!?
Answer to Impa Born in Her Own Town

Impa was born in the Sheikah Village that was there before. Then she founded Kakariko Village so everybody could live there. I'm pretty sure this is accurate, but, if it's not I apoligize.
Gerudo Sneaking
Sent in by Links Chika
When you're trying to get the carpenters out you can shoot all of the guards dressed in purple to make them "pass out," but If you go to the training grounds or by the archery range you can't shoot the chicks in white! Link is racist! lol jkjk
Nayru's Not-Love
Sent in by The Other Link
Hah! Discovered a silly little trick that does absolutely nothing to harm your system. You need Nayru's Love for this to work. After getting it, go inside Jabu Jabu's Belly to the room with all the pitfalls and electrical slimy things. Use Nayru's Love, and do a backflip into the slimy thing (what ARE those things called!? -Answer: Birris-). Link will not only fly through the thing from being hit, but he will also try to start screaming about a bazillion times! The sound he ends up making is just plain funny. It probably works by running into just about ANY baddie, although I find the slimies and those Ghoma Larvae in the Great Deku Tree work best.
What's Under Link's Tunic
Sent in by Christopher
When Navi says "Hey" in the begining of the game, Link wakes up, you'll see what's under his tunic! Green stuff! And the color under changes to the color of the tunic!!
Skydiving Link?
Sent in by Max
Ok, go to the bridge that crosses over to Gerudo Fortress. Below you is a tremendous drop. If you jump where the sign stating that you should not jump off is, you will do a graceful dive into the river that leads to Lake Hylia. However, if you position Link at the far edge of the bridge below which has the cow and the stranded Gerudo beneath it, something crazy happens: Position Link on the edge of the bridge above the Gerudo and the cow, and dive. Dive, dive dive! Now, Link does his normal arc down to the water, except the water is replaced by the edge of the cliff! Link will land with a SPLAT! Or at least he should have! Instead, Link (somehow) lands as if he had fallen from a long drop; feet first! He flashes red a few times, makes the whining noise he always makes when he lands from too high a jump, and gets up, losing only the regular amount of health he would have lost from a drop! Now either Link is immortal, or Nintendo certainly made a big mistake, because L ink clearly dove into a flat surface hundreds of feet below him! But i have to admit, it's actually quite fun to dive Link off of the bridge and land him face (or 'feet') first on the surface below him!
Shaking Doors
Sent in by Triforce_Hunter
I recently noticed that is you roll into a door, it shakes violently. Not particularly special, but it's a little odd that the doors shake when you roll into them but don't move when you drop a bomb by them 0_o.
Jaws
Sent in by Ford
When you get the Iron Boots and Zora Tunic go to the lab next to Lake Hylia. Go to the little pool inside of it and put the Iron Boots and Zora Tunic on . Float down to the bottem and look at a small metal grate. You will see Jaws!
Tree at Lake Hylia
Sent in by Gimmeswords
Play the Serenade of Water and warp to Lake Hylia. Look at the tree on the island and see that there are three slash marks on it. I've always wondered what the point of these were. It looks like there may have been a struggle and a creature had slashed the tree or are they just little things the developers put in?

The Legend of Zelda: OoT Master Quest

A Different Gerudo Symbol
Sent in by Dark Grapefruit
For some reason, the "Gerudo" symbol has been changed in the Master Quest. Where it used to be a crescent moon and star, now it's a strange flowery pattern. Every block and sign that has this symbol has been changed. Does anyone have any idea why?
Gerudo Symbol
Sent in by Liam
A cresent and a star sounds like the Turkish flag! Maybe Nintendo changed it because it was cosidered "offensive"?
Gerudo Symbol - Another Symbol
Sent in by Rose
I just think it's weird that they have that symbol plus the thing with the music in the Fire Temple. The symbol of a crescent moon and star has come to be associated with the Islamic faith. That's why it was on the Turkish flag that Liam mentioned. Turkey is an islamic dominated country.
Chest Mess
Sent in by HyperLink
In the Spirit Temple, when you first go in as an adult, you trigger the fall of three or four chests. Now, when you go back in time, for some strange reason only explained by quantum physics, the chests are still there. Which means they traveled back seven years WITH you.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Staring at the Moon
While waiting for things, it's fun to just stand there waiting for the moon. You can actually see it move pixel by pixel. Despite the poor storyline, this game was nicely done, you gotta admit.
Crow Flying Around Clock Town
I show this to all my friends and they all are surprised by it and none of them have any explanation. I've tried shooting it down, playing music, nothing works. Anyways, there's a lone crow flying around the walls of Clock Town.
Crow Flying Around Clock Town - Explanation
Sent in by Sensei and Me
I have an explanation for the crow flying around Clock Town...If you play any of the "Dungeon Opening Songs" (eg Goron's Lullaby), the crow will start dropping Rupees, then will fly away. MagicFox: Sweet!! I'm impressed. I'm going to go try this out!! Thank you, Sensei! -I guess I never played the right music. Another thanks to Me for also sending me the explanation to the Crow, though Sensei beat you to it.
Smelly Boxers
Sent in by Keruri
Go up to the room in the Stock Pot Inn where there are bunk beds. On second bed's bottom bunk is a pair of Gorman's boxer shorts. Put on the Mask of Scents and you can see the scent. Swing a bottle at the boxers and you can get some mushrooms.
Player's Manual
Sent in by theatrebrad
This isn't a tip, but definitely an oddity. With the purchase of the game, I also got the "Official Player's Manuel." HAH! If that's official, then Zelda certainly isn't putting money into it. That is the worst booklet I have ever seen. Between typos, meager explainations, and completely erroneous information, I can't believe this even went through editing.
Drowned Frog?
Sent in by theatrebrad
Lock onto a frog with Z targeting and you can actually push the frog. In the pond in Clock Town, you can push the frog into the water. How does he breathe so long under there? Frogs still need oxygen.
Constellations
Sent in by Rufus94
This is rather scientific to see. Go on to the platform on the main clock in Clock Town ( the one you must get on to in order to turn back in to Link... my memory's a bit rusty). Go into first person view and look up at the sky (it must be at night). There are real constellations, although the only one I have identified is Orion.
Tortus???
Sent in by Matthew
At midnight at the inn there is a hand named ???. Nobody knows about it but on the first day when you talk to Anju at the Kitchen she'll say the inn used to be a cafateria & her dad owned it, or talk to the grandmother when Anju is there the Grandmother thinks Anju is Anju's Dad Tortus & Anju says that her dad is dead. I think the Hand must be Tortus.
Evan's Piano Music

This is a statement of the obvious, but Evan's piano music, when you go to see him, is from the first LoZ "Game Over/Save" screen and the ending.
Mario Mask
Sent in by Dethl'sShadow
This is yet another Mario cameo. If you go behind the Happy Mask Salesman and look at his bag in first-person mode, you can see a Mario-face mask.
Zora Band Tunes
Sent in by Joseph
Each of the members of the Zora Band plays a tune from previous Zelda games. Evans, the Zora with the piano, plays the Game Over tune from Zelda 1. Japas, the one with the guitar, plays the tune you hear inside of a dungeon in Zelda 1, but messes up before completing the song... its funny to watch. Then the last Zora, the big one with the drums, plays the song you hear inside a cave in LttP.
Peculiar Decorations
Sent in by Franklin
I have been quite intrigued by the decorative masks scattered throughout the Inn in Clock Town because these masks can only be found in the Oceanside Spider House other than this Inn, and everyone says the owners of the Inn are near poor with their run down Inn, so how could they possibly afford one of a kind masks found in only one other place. Did they steal them perhaps?
A Moon Exhibition?
Sent in by Franklin
It seems Link isn't the only one trying to land on the moon! In fact the Bomb Shop is trying to do the very same thing! Notice their rocket behind the counter? Also there is a note in the southeast corner above a bench which reads: "Planned Moon Trip Experiment Memo: Try Using Bomb-Powered Flight." Yes, why doesn't Link just fly up there? It would save him from wasting 3 days, and defeating 4 bosses!
An Extra Ladder?
Sent in by Franklin
I've noticed for years a ladder on the roof of the Magic Jar the Witch Potion Shop is in! It is resting on the roof, but where does it go? It seems to only point to the sky and doesn't go inside the shop!
GCN Gerudo Symbol on N64
Sent in by Jinkondorf
I was looking around Anju's room on MM, and in the back I found a sign with the Gerudo symbol that we see on the GCN port of OoT. Apparently, Nintendo noticed the original Gerudo symbol's cultural imperfections before the days of GCN.
Great Bay's Huge Fish
Sent in by TheLink
Ok, I discovered this when my friend and I were messing around in MM with anything we could find. I suddenly recalled you could use Ice Arrows to make platforms. If you do this at Great Bay (might need some green potions), you can go out really far if you are fast enough. Anyway, if you do this starting at the far left side of the beach, after you are out a ways (like 20 or 21 blocks), you'll see a HUGE fish that looks like a skeleton in the water. When I found this I kinda freaked and fell into the water, and since I jumped past the boundary (it only blocks swimmers :) ) it blacked and ended up at the entrance. It's kinda fun :P
Little Green Men
Sent in by EggNorton
Howdy doodie, now this has been on my mind for quite some time. When you go to the Observatory and look through the telescope, on the pillars at the entrance to Inka Canyon there's a little green man, like the little cursed kid of the Skultulla family in OoT doin' his little dance. When I first saw it when I was still a Deku, I assumed that it was just something for later in the game. But when I went there he was gone and instead there was a grotto. I thought that was prety odd. Not only that but I saw another green man waaay over at the entrance to the Southern Swamp in the bushes, but when I went there, guess what, I fell into a grotto.

Are these men ment to be clues for people to know where grotto's are, and if they are, thay're pretty irrelivent clues. Another thing is that there's a green man that watches the moon on top of the object that they are building in Clock Town that is worried about the moon and wants the Skulltula house at Great Bay as shelter. Maybe it's a group of people that know of the moon's destruction and are seeking shelter in the grotto's, and if so why can we only see them through telescope. All reason's befruzzle me. Anyways, if anyone got any theories I'm all ears. Cheers ;P

In the Subrosia Market, the Heart piece is sideways. When you buy it, it appears upside-down. What's the dealie here?
Heart Piece Headache Answer

Well, in my game it is always upside down. You should read what the seller says. He calls the Heart Piece a "peach", that's why it is upside down. maybe your game has a glitch.

Giant Chicken

First go find a chicken and attack it until chickens fly at you. Next, sprinkle Mystery Seeds on it and it will be huge. Warning: You will get hurt by the Giant Chicken. (If you sprinkle the chicken before you attack them, they will turn into chicks.)

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

Misspelled Mischief
Sent in by Darian (Edited by MagicFox)
In the linked game in Ages when you are facing Twinrova, she says that she won't fall like Veran and "Knox". Knox? Who is Knox? I think they meant to put Onox but the developers made a typo. Ooops.
Misspelled Mischief Answer
Sent in by Ranz
The reason she says "Knox" instead of "Onox" is because of translation error. The general's name was "Knox" in the Japanese version of the game. I'm still not sure WHY they let that one slide.
Maku Tree Mystery
Sent in by Darian
When you defeat the last Dungeon, the Maku Tree says to see her when "YOU" grow up. Doesn't she mean "I"? Silly developers.
Another Typo
Sent in by Patrick
When you get to your Linked Oracle of Ages game, and are at the part when you can fight Twinrova or Ganon, go to where the Ring house is in the past, and talk to Nayru. She will say something, but in my game, she has "Veransaid" in one word. This is an obvious typo.

Gerudo Veran
Sent in by Jinkondorf
Veran has the GCN Gerudo symbol on her outfit as well! Look at both of her shoulder pad things on the official art. You can't see the whole design, but there's no doubt that it's the same symbol that we see on the mirror shield of OoT (GCN port).

The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Retrorock
Sent in by Jeremy Yerkes
I'm sure some other people have noticed this, but I didn't see it on the page. The kid in the Nintendo Gallery is holding a folder with a picture of an Octorock from the original LOZ.
More Retro
Sent in by Dark Grapefruit
Jeremy's Octorok isn't the only interesting item in that gallery. The following also appear in the Nintendo gallery behind the sculptor:
- Four masks from Majora's Mask (Keaton, Goron, Giant, Bunny Hood)
- Bottles of Lon Lon Milk and a poster for Lon Lon ranch
- A bust of Saria
Fun With Medli
Sent in by Jeremy Yerkes
One of my favorite things to do in TWW occurs right before the Dragon Roost Cavern. Medli asks you to throw her up onto the ledge, but don't. Throw her into the wall and watch the hillarity begin! One of my favorite sayings is "Link, since when did you become triplets?" Ha! Classic!

Go to the room where you get the Master Sword. Look at the stained glass. Inside them are pictures of the sages from OoT!
Mysteriously Appearing Figurines
Sent in by Dark Grapefruit
One time when I was looking through my figurine collection I noticed I somehow had figurines of Aryll and Zelda. I know I didn't take pictures of them (in fact, I think it's impossible to take a picture of them). Maybe you automatically get them after collecting a certain number of figurines?
Answer to Mysteriously Appearing Figurines
Sent in by The Eighth Sage
Actually, there is another explanation to some figures just "appearing" in the gallery. In Dark Grapefruit's case, they must have gotten a few of the Legendary Pictures made into figurines. If you get the King of Hyrule's, you automatically get Zelda's. Also, if you take a picture of Granny (I think) you get Aryll's. There are others that do that, but I do not remember.
Automatic Figurines
Sent in by Dethl'sShadow
There are many people who want to know the truth behind mysteriously appearing figurines, so here is a complete list of all the "mystery figurines" and how to get them. Aryll-Automatic with Grandmother. Quill-Automatic with Cheiftan. Gonzo, Senza, Nudge, Zuko, Niko, Mako-Automatic with Tetra. Zelda-Automatic with King of Hyrule. Link and King of Red Lions-Automatic when you collect all other figurines except for Knuckle (you can still get it if you have his).
Look Familiar?
Sent in by Marc
In Hyrule Castle, there is a picture next to the entrance. Look at the picture with the telescope. Hmm, don't the people in that picture look familiar?
Musical Pearls
Sent in by Marc
There are three pearls: Din, Farore, and Nayru. On the pearls are designs seen in Oracle of Ages. Din's Pearl looks like the symbol of the Tune of Currents, Farore's Pearl looks like the Tune of Echoes, and Nayru's Pearl looks like the Tune of Ages.
Jabun - Lord Jabu-Jabu?
Sent in by random zelda house
In Wind Waker, don't you think Jabun, the Giant Fish God inside the cave on Outset Island, looks alot like Lord Jabu-Jabu, the giant fish in OoT, in whose belly you rescue princess Ruto? ;) Could there be some kind of connection?
Mombo
Sent in by Ganon
The big fish behind Outset Island looks much like Mombo from the game The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening. He's the one who teaches you Mombo's Mombo.
Goron Evolution?
Sent in by Darkblade Shiekah
Go to one of the islands with the merchants. Notice the carrot-like symbol on their pack? Hmm, now I wonder where I've seen that before! And also, if you take their pictures (color!) to the Nintendo Gallery, their description will say: Favorite food: Rocks. Now I wonder who used to eat those?
Goron Evolution 2
Sent in by The Eighth Sage
That is true...but the merchants ARE Gorons. In fact, if you take your Deku Leaf and blast a gust of wind at them, their hats will blow off and you can see for yourself.
Tetra's Room
Sent in by ChameleonLizard3
When you get to meet the pirates in Windfall Island, you have the chance to sneak into Tetra's room. Look at the pictures there!!! There are pictures of Hyrule, Link, the Triforce, and a girl sitting in a chair. Who is this girl? Din? The Queen of Hyrule? I've seen that picture before...
Hazardous Medli
Sent in by Dethl'sShadow
Next time you're around Medli, take a look at the front of her dress (the red part). There's a biohazard symbol on it. You can also see this in official artwork of Medli.
Zora/Rito Conspiracy?
Sent in by Parker
Like Dethl'sShadow said, Medli has a symbol on the front of her outfit. It's on grown-up Komali's necklace, too. But it's not a hazardous symbol! If you put a circle in each of the curves, dosen't that make the Zora's Sapphire? Also, note that Medli is the descendant of a Zora (Laruto). Does this mean the Ritos and the Zoras are tied together somehow? There are no Zoras seen in TWW and the Ritos pop out of nowhere! What could this mean?
Zoras Just Hiding?
Sent in by Darkblade Sheikah
The Ritos are probably not Zoras. Some may argue that "Rito" came from "Ruto", but there is no evidence of that. What's more, it says before you go to Greatfish Isle that the island is the island of the ZORAS! They were either killed, or retreated to the ocean, which is very probable. The Ritos could be a branch of Zora, but are not the complete decendents of Zoras.
Zora and Rito
Sent in by Sage of Nothing
Why would the Zoras need to evolove into something that flies when the world in Wind Waker is mostly water? And don't try and say that Zoras cannot survive in salt-water. They can - look at Majora's Mask. I agree with Darkblade Sheikah: the Ritos are probably branched off of the Zoras but are NOT direct descendants of the Zoras.
The Postman Gene
Sent in by David
Look at the Rito who lets you play the letter-sorting game. Now look at the Postman in Majora's Mask. Look familiar?
Rito Wall Wizrobes
Sent in by Darkblade Sheikah
Take a look at the walls in the Rito cave place. Walk around it until you spot some peculiar designs. There are carvings on the walls of higher-level wizrobes casting a summoning spell! Could it be that the Ritos evolved from wizrobes? Or have some secret past with them?
Not the Only One Who Knows
Sent in by ChameleonLizard3
Hi! This is a wierd thing! At the beginning of the game it says nobody knows what happened to Hyrule; nobody survived the whole thing with Ganondorf taking over, or if it's even real. Well then, why does Lenzo give you a picture of the King of Hyrule? Why does the guy give you free figurines of ZELDA? Why does Tetra have a picture of the Triforce in her room? WHY IS TINGLE STILL ALIVE?? The King said that it was hundreds of years after Ganondorf destroyed Hyrule.... SO WHY ARE THEY STILL ALIVE?!?! lol
Fishing for Nothing
Sent in by Darkblade Sheikah
In the final battle between Link and Gannondorf, Gannondorf talks about how the Hylians were stranded on a fishless sea. If that is so, then WHY is Outset island a small FISHING villiage?!?!?
The Sun's Song of Passing
Sent in by Jinkondorf
The Song of Passing, which you learn from Tott by the cliff headstone of Windfall Island, sounds just like the Sun's Song from Ocarina of Time, and it shares the same purpose the Sun's Song has. It's obviously the same tune, but why was the title changed?
Cruel Link
Sent in by luke Wholey
On outset, you know the woman who carries a pot on her head? You can fire an arrow at it and it will smash. Don't talk to her or she'll take some money and cry for a bit, but when you go inside and come out again... she has another pot on her head.
More on "Cruel Link"
Sent in by Jinkondorf
There are other ways to break the pot on the lady's head. You can throw another pot or a rock. Other weapons Link can use to break the pot are the Hookshot, sword, Grappling Hook, Boomerang, and Skull Hammer.
Been Framed

Once you gain access to the cabana ( give Ms. Marie a sufficient amount of joy pendants) approach the picture to your left when you enter. It's the one that is not screwed up. Stare at it real close and you'll notice that the frame resembles an old Nintendo controller!
Invisible Shield

At the beginning of the game, after you get your sword, stop and look at Link. He is holding his sword and his hand is in the air like he's holding a shield even though he doesn't have one! His arm should start hurting soon (lol).

Battle Music Changes
Sent in by Nintendo2.0
I'm sure all of you must've already notice this. Ever notice that when L-targeting an enemy WITHOUT your sword out, the battle music has kind of a "footstep" and "cautious" tone behind. Then, when L-targeting an enemy WITH your sword out, the battle music turns from a "footstep" tone to a more "violin", "blade sharp", and "better-watch-out" tone! Just a little Zelda music observation! ^_^
Tingle Tower
Sent in by Gimmeswords
If you look at the Tingle Tower it looks alot like a Totem Pole with Chu-Chus at the base, the hog form of Ganon (or is it a moblin?), but what are those girls? Are they supposed to be the maidens you rescue in LttP?
Darknut's Determination Against Magic!
Sent in by Nintendo2.0
When facing against a Darknut, if Link tries to freeze it with an Ice Arrow, the Darknut will turn into an ice statue, BUT after about 3 seconds it'll show it shaking and eventually breaking out of its ice prison by flexing its arms and muscles out (it really does show that action). Talk about determination to kill Link no matter what!
Ballad of Gales with Minuet of Forest!
Sent in by Nintendo2.0
When the music plays during the warping between islands with the Ballad of Gales, you'll probably hear a familar tune at the end of the warping music. It's the ending sound of the Minuet of Forest in OoT!
Carrying Biped Pigs!
Sent in by Garin
You all know about carrying pigs, I'm sure, but did you know about carrying MOBLINS?! Use an ice arrow on one and pick it up, when it defrosts, it should still be on your head, it just sits there twitching, no fight in it!

Zelda Collector's Edition

Different Symbol
Sent in by ChameleonLizard3
Well, an Oddity in Master Quest says there is a different Gerudo symbol on the blocks and all. Well, when I got the Collector's Disk, there was also a change in the symbol on the blocks. The symbol reminds me of the Professor Egadd symbol on the blocks that hold the stuff like the hover thing on Super Mario Sunshine. (It might be slightly different, but they do look alike!)
Japas and His Music

Hmm... There once was an Oddity that said Evan the Band Leader plays the 'Game Over' song on the piano. I found out that Japas, the guy who you play a song with, also plays a song in LOZ - the dungeon music!!!
Two Master Swords?
Sent in by ChameleonLizard3
Hi! I found this mistake when I was beating Ocarina of Time. When Ganon knocked the Master Sword out of my hands, I was getting out my arrows to shoot Ganon when I noticed this. If you look close enough at the back of Link, you can see that he still has the Master Sword, but if you look at the spot next to Zelda, the Master Sword will still be there!!!! ???.....wierd.
Eating, Helping, or Crying?
Sent in by ChameleonLizard3
In OoT in the Market when you are Adult Link, the place will be swarming with ReDeads. Get them close together... and slay one. The ReDeads will walk over to the dead one, crouch down, and start shaking! Are they eating it, trying to ressurect it, or are they crying?? Hmmmmmmm... makes me think.

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap

Write's Brother
Sent in by Aaron
In Hyrule Town in The Minish Cap, you can meet a fellow by the name of Mr. Left. (You will definitely meet him during the Library book quest). He's pretty identical to Mr. Write from Link's Awakening (and his previous job in SimCity).

In the Minish Cap I noticed that Link the entire game never wears a shield or wields a sword! Yet when you push the Attack and Defend buttons, his sword and shield magically materialize! Whats up with that?
Name that Instrument
Sent in by TheEighthSage
In the Minish Cap, you recieve an item called the Ocarina of Wind, which serves the exact same purpose (and even has the same bird) as the Flute in A Link to the Past, both of which bear a strong resemblence to the Ocarina of Time. Wonder if they're all the same instrument...
No More Kinstone Fusion?
Sent in by TheEighthSage
In the European release of the game, if you miss a Kinstone Fusion, there's a good chance you won't see it again. This usually happens with people who disappear as part of the storyline. In the US version, however, this has been fixed, but makes completing all the Kinstone Fusions much, much harder.
Wise One Wannabe

When you're in the Temple of Time, find the big statue that opens the door to the boss. Then, have Link stand in one of the statue's teleporters. As the thing drops to teleport the statue, Link will be pushed out and his feet don't move. Looks like he slides.

When you visit the fishing pond, talk to the girl running the shop and she'll tell you to look at objects for info. Look to the left, and you'll see a series of photographs - all ranging back to the original fisherman back in OoT.
Zora Armor's Extra Feature!
Sent in by Nintendo2.0
This kind of surprised me when I first noticed this (don't know if it will surprised you too)! Most of you, Zelda fans, already realized that when wearing the Zora Armor, Link swims faster than wearing the Hero's Clothes.

However, if you wear the Zora Armor and dive underwater (or sink underwater with the Iron Boots on), you'll notice that the Zora Armor actually illuminates bright light that surrounds Link WHEN UNDERWATER!

Looks like the Zora Armor makes sure that the user has enough light to see in the dark depths of the ocean! ^_^

Overlooked by the Developers
Sent in by Nintendo2.0
This goes back to the time where you first entered the Twilight Realm!

After the cutscene where Midna first finds you in the jail cell (after turning into a wolf for the first time) and frees you from your chain, she'll ask you to find a way to escape while she waits outside your cell. Now, the only hint she'll give you is to try to find a hole that could get you out of your cell.

Where's the oddity, you ask? Well, I don't know if any of you remember, but during the E3 2005 trailer, there was a scene that showed Link (in his wolf form) with Midna on this back ramming out of a squared, caged hole that was high on a wall outside of a jail cell. I think that was the developers' original idea of how Link should escape his imprisonment. However, it wasn't. In the game, Link has to dig through a hole that was under a small portion of the jail cell.

Before digging your way out, take a moment to examine the area. Notice anything on the walls? Yep, if you look high enough in first-person perspective on the wall near the clump of hay, you'll see a medium sized, squared hole just big enough for a wolf to slip in! The developers' must've created that before they've changed their mind.

Don't believe me? Well, how about looking at the wall behind you when you finally escaped your jail cell. Another medium sized, squared hole that seems to be interlinked with the one inside your jail cell! Just like in the trailer only this time it doesn't have a cage blocking it!

Guess the developer team didn't have time to fix it up! ^_^

Shiny to Dark

I was playing the Forest Temple, and you know that one plant that has the head and spine that's connected to the part you have to throw a bomb into (the Deku Baba that is fused with a Mantrap)? Well, the key it eats is silver, but when you get it, it's black.

MagicFox Explanation: This was sent in as a glitch, however, I think it was rather on purpose. After the key has been eaten and was inside a plant that had to be bombed, I think the change in the key's color can only be expected. At least, I thought nothing of it when I first saw this. The key is just a little dirty, that's all. ... Eww, plant guts!!

Twilight Princess is the only Zelda game where you actually see Link, physically, open the dungeon doors for the first time!

In the fishing hut, tackle the walls a few times and the owner will get mad, yell at you and throw you out.

Legend of Zelda Oddity Form

Have a strange observation you wish for me to post above with your name beside it? Well, here's your chance! Though I cannot promise it will always make it to this page, I will read it and think about it. If it does not show up DO NOT RESEND IT. Your e-mail address is optional, but if you do give me it I will make sure to e-mail you and tell you if your Oddity did not make it to this page. All other forms are required, though. PLEASE NO CURSING. Thank you. Remember: You can submit an Oddity for a game that is not listed above. I do not add up game sections until there is an Oddity available for the game. Please! For my sake and others, mark spoilers!

* The Oddities above with the red asterik, as seen here, are taboo topics. I will no longer be posting any theories up on the site about them unless the Oddities are supported with game or developer statements that prove it beyond theory. I simply do not have enough room for all of your theories. Thank you.
