And with this, the Link to the Past section is complete
August 31, 2004, 10:06 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Finally, without further adeiu, I present to you, ladies and gentelmen, Rupee Collecting in the A Link to the Past section for all your "get-rich-quick" needs.

Commentary: But... T-T my section... is... complete. I have nothing more that I can think of to put in that section. I've listed shops, listed rupees, listed fairy fountains. *Sigh* -_- So depressing. My favorite game and I will never be able to work on its section ever again. >_> Hrrrm... I could dump the section and say "Ooops, I lost that stuff" and have to update all over again. But... Ok, now that's just lunacy. Anyways... now Max will move on to the original Legend of Zelda section. Which should satisfy a few people who have recently purchased the new NES Classic version. (I want it, too!! >_< Max needs $20 but if I get that money, I'll prolly buy two mangas with it. Darn myself!!) @_@ Who ever said being an Otaku was easy?

Two More Investigations
August 30, 2004, 7:38 AM EST by Doh
Updates: Okay, these are a little bit late...just a little. Both May and Junes Investigations have now been added. May's Investigation is a look into Mario Kart Double Dash!! and June's Investigation is all about my life as a European gamer. So yeah...not too late at all.

Commentary: And now to think of something to put in here...*thinks* Well I can't think of anything great, perhaps I should explain the reasoning behind the lateness of the Investigations, however, I really don't want to bore you with all the details and such. So...Um...back to square one I suppose.

Um, Max, You Missed My Point...
August 29, 2004, 2:23 PM EST by Dethl'sShadow
Updates: There is now an item guide for FSA as well as the instruction book story.

Commentary: Max, I'm not sure you understood what I was saying. My messages were not simply ignored. They didn't go up in the first place, making it impossible for me to say anything at all. Camp Hyrule was terrible. End of story.

I spoke too soon and am too lazy to just edit
August 28, 2004, 2:46 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: New Zelda News! The Minish Cap receives a release date for January 10th, 2005. In addition, five new screenshots were released. You can view the screenshots in the Minish Cap screenshots page.

Commentary: Wait... did they release a due date for Japan? I don't remember it. *Sigh* Trust me to miss it. It will prolly change, though. Meh, sorry for the double posting. LOL, a new news post just a few minutes after my previous one. I really should check my news sites "before" I update. I did have something to talk about.

Max is exhausted but has nothing much to announce
August 28, 2004, 2:22 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: And the only things I have to announce for a full day's work, is the Join the Staff page and the Meet the Staff page have both been updated. Since Dethl'sShadow is quite the hardworker and has finished up his Wind Waker section and the Four Swords Adventures section (there wasn't much for there anyway), he will be focusing on Zelda II: Adventure of Link and The Beta Zelda Files. ~ You will see in the Join the Staff section, the section writers is marked out. That's cause - I DON'T NEED THEM. Dethl has handled the sections I couldn't handle myself since I'd never played the games, and I'm going to be finishing up all the other sections. The LttP section is almost finished as well. But PLEASE! I need more walkthrough writers and some article writers. PLEASE PLEASE! If you're interested, submit a form.

Commentary: Meh, most of the day was spent coding my staff's material and uploading it onto the site. They will be announcing it soon, no doubt. Ok, that leaves only Affiliation forms in my mailbox that I need to go through. I'll get to them... later... Hopefully tomorrow or Monday I will have completed the last page for the LttP section. ~ Oh, for those wondering about my Dad's surgery. It got canceled Wednesday and rescheduled for Monday. >_< That "so" sucks since it's a four hour drive. Idiots!! Oh well, Dad's first in line this time, so, with the exception of a natural catasrophe, nothing's going to stop him from getting surgery. ... ::knocks on wood::

Really, guys? Wow, I liked my cabin and had fun
August 25, 2004, 10:43 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Ok, ^_^; I wasn't too sure if I should or not but I did anyway. In the Movies and Trailers page, I added the FSA trailer that was released during E3. ::Shrugs:: So, if you like it and want to watch it, go watch it. If you don't, well... then don't watch it. That simple.

Commentary: Ok, sure Camp had a LOT of flaws, but I was fairly content with it. I guess Cabin 6 was one of the better cabins. I enjoyed it. Sure, there were a lot of immature and childish people, but just ignore them and they go away after a while. ^_^ Dethl, as for watching your message go up into neverland, you can't just sit there and expect people to talk to you. Most prolly didn't see the message. You have to make lots of noise I learned. ::Shrugs:: I was almost intimidated by it at first, but I stuck with it and continued posting my opinions (of the cabin names) and somehow ended up as one of the dominating people in the first chat. But then... maybe I'm not the kind of person that enjoys being shoved in the back row, unless that's what I want.

Section VI Of OoT Walkthrough
August 25, 2004, 2:58 AM EST by Devilitchi
Updates: Section VI Of OoT Walkthrough has been added.

Commentary: Since everyone is commenting on their Camp Hyrule experience, I will to. Well, I have to say that I had to be in the most immature cabin... or the biggest cabin of idiots. I chatted a few times, but since I was the oldest person in the room everytime I logged in, I couldn't take it anymore. The chat with Reggie was a joke, none of the questions asked were good. But, its free, what do you expect? :) Oh, and Happy Late Birthday MCLoZ! :)

Camp Hyrule...What a Waste...
August 24, 2004, 6:10 PM EST by Dethl'sShadow
Updates: Stuff on Tingle's Tower for FSA!! w00t!

Commentary: I'm gonna say it right now: Camp Hyrule sucks. The few times I was able to go were worthless. Whenever I'd try to send a message, it would dissappear into god-knows-where, and I'd be left to watch the idiots in my cabin talk to each other. The only fun part was the marshmallow game.

Weeel, Max has come up with a few FSA-related things to do before I go on to beta and older games that have poorly done sections. *cough*2*cough* Anyway, I won't have much anything exciting until TMC comes out.

Warning: Heavy reading involved - may increase IQ
August 23, 2004, 12:43 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: The Report on Camp Hyrule 2004 is now up. The article is located under Articles and Projects beneath Doh's Investigations. Have fun reading it. Yeah, it was kinda loong rant. I'm sorry, I couldn't help but comment on several things. Why did I write this article? 1: To stop people asking me about my time spent. 2: To inform those who have no idea about what it's about. 3: To reference to next year's when I get the same question asked in #2. 4: Because I needed to rant about it! So - HA!

Commentary: ^_^ Yes, and it's long, too. LOL, sorry for the title of the update. I couldn't help it. You know... you see an opening for a sarcastic comment... that powerful urge that just drives you to insanity if you don't take it. *Sigh* ^_^; Well, meh, I think I'll go now, before you start throwing rotten fruits and veggies at me.

Bye Link - Nintendo's now targeting fan games?
August 23, 2004, 7:45 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: And today Max empties out her mailbox, which isn't all that full. Just three staff things, a bunch of affiliation stuff. And then this stuff I've got up for this morning's update. Zelda Secrets and Oddities - Glitches *ZCE "Three Master Swords" by ChameleonLizard3 ~ Link's Infinite List of Torture *Items 120-122 by Jessica Gagnon and Hayley from Sowerby

Commentary: I was checking up on my Zelda news when I went to Zelda Universe to see what they had posted. I read their little article about Nintendo vs Fan Games. For those that don't know, Nintendo has started cracking down on Fan Games. The Gaming Universe, a previous affiliate of MCLoZ, was hit hard because of this. Now... this whole thing irritates me a little bit as well. Copyright infringement? o_O

>_< What a bunch of morons! Games thrive on fan base, everything thrives on fan base. That's like going around on the net saying people can't post up fan art because it's copyright infringment. Now, I can see if people are "selling" these games, sure CRACK down! Let the mighty lash of Nintendo sear them into all eternity. But to randomly go around and just say "No, fan games" is rediculous. The only thing I know TGU was getting paid for was the server and they were only asking for donations. The games were free, I played a few of them myself and thought "adorable". Meh, Nintendo, this is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard of you doing. And you know, I wouldn't mind checking up on some laws about this one. If TGU played their cards right, they could probably win this case if they went to court over it. When I was taking my HTML class, I remember the teacher clearly stating "You can do almost anything on the net that you want as long as you are not demanding money for it."

I'm going to close this rant. I could go on for hours, you know me. I haven't even covered the effect that fan games have on the community and help it to grow, but, I think I've covered enough. I'm mad about it, I hope TGU is, and I hope Nintendo is happy because they are about to go through and even worse case of fan-drop if things continue to go like this. <_< *sigh* I didn't think Nintendo could get any dumber. I guess they have an unlimited supply of stupid pills laying around at home. Anyways, my Camp Hyrule report should be up sometime later today.

Happy 5th Birthday to MCLoZ! Where's presents?
August 21, 2004, 10:26 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: August 21, 1999, Midnight Castle opened its doors to the public. At the time it was a simple site I was making while learning HTML and existed on a tiny AOL service. Now, 5 years later, it's one of the biggest sites on the net and has it's own domain. *Sniffle* My site has been through a lot. Name changes, content changes, staff changes, downtime, server moves. It's been great. Five years and still going strong! Thank you everyone for your support. *Sniffle* I'm... going to get all teary eyed in a second. (So... where's the presents?)

Commentary: As for updates, I'll try to have one later today. I will be writing a full article on Camp Hyrule, including it's successes and failures and my own impressions of the whole thing, as well as a little bit of what it was about. I doubt that this article will be finished by today, no first *sigh* mail box purging. Why do I let it get so bad before I update? >_< Stupid parents not letting me have the computer. I almost missed the closing ceremonies last night. Well... anyways. Cake and ice cream are being served in the forums. ^_^ Everyone be sure to stop in to get some. Tata!!

Lots of thanks to my fans... regular updates
August 20, 2004, 6:19 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: *None

Commentary: Ok, today will be the final day of Camp Hyrule. I'm thinking of writing a tiny article on it, too, when I return, but I'm not real sure. I haven't thought of it carefully enough. Anyways, next week, my dad leaves off again to go for surgery (*worry*), so, like before when he went up to be examined for it, we will return to regular updates. No doubt the updates will hopefully continue. My little sister is back in school, Dad's going to be recovering, and well, you probably would have seen my return this week if it hadn't been for Camp Hyrule. ^_^ Thank you all for your patience. It's really appreciated. MagicFox, your glorious leader, is returning (hopefully... erk).

Odd the speculation one trailer can peak up
August 5, 2004, 3:58 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: ^_^; Uhh... sorta checking in to let you know that I'm not dead. Well... but I did move July's updates to the Past Updates Archive. >_> Sorry, I will try to have something up tomorrow. <_< *cough* I've sorta been... well... refer to the commentary.

Commentary: Uhh ^_^; I got Kingdom Hearts! $15 for a used copy, and so I was able to talk my parents into giving me a few dollars (for some services around the house *sigh*). A FABULOUS game. I was hesitant since "disney characters... hrrrm..." but Squaresoft has my confidence and so does the hundreds of people that I've heard say the game is fantastic. It is. I tip my hat to the game, which I successfully beat today on Normal mode (and with everything, secret ending, trinity marks. Oh, and NO CHEATING. I didn't look at a guide once! :P ). I plan to go back and replay on Expert mode of course. Honestly I think it should have been "Easy" and "Hard". Normal was almost not worth my time. But anyways, I wanted to rant about something else. After watching the ending, of course I got the secret ending. Which perked my interest which lead me into finding out more about the upcoming sequals, Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 2. (I visited the site - duh! - http://kingdomhearts2.net .)

Ok, I'm excited for the sequals, too, I really am. Plus I downloaded the other secret ending from Final Mix. I still have yet to view the trailers. My interest is peaked. I admit it. ^_^ And I can't wait to play and the screenshots look awesome. However, when I started to get into the speculation, things started getting scary. o_O They started comparing the boot styles of the unknown characters just in an attempt to identify who is who. Ok... I want to know as much as the next person who those people are. But "come on"! Trailers are wonderful eye candy and you just can't wait to play the games, but when we start getting that far into desperate obsession things start getting extremely scary. I noticed during E3 that my Myst fans started getting just as scary (and I promptly left the community). I mean, they sat with one photograph and translated the writing and figured out the mysterious secret that's probably the key factor of the game. The producers jumped all over them and forced down the thread. Thankfully I kept out of the Spoilers zone when they started that.

Trailers are awesome, they really are, and waiting for a game is torture, I know it. ^_^ But I think these examples are proof of "things going way too far". Half the time, the games don't even have that much of a mysterious element and when you go back after beating the game and stare at the trailer I bet you those boot-comparing people are going to be like "maybe I shouldn't have gotten so crazy."

Ok, I think I'm done ranting. ^_^ At least for a moment. The bad thing is though, I wasted five minutes of my time reading that goop when I could have spent it watching the trailers. Yeah, I read it. I got a headache too. "Who is BHK again." "Wait, are we talking about Key guy or the Enigma dude." @_@

Oh, BTW, in case you want proof of the insanity that I read, or are just intrigued by the article that I'm talking about. Here's a link to it: DD/ASAS Analaysis. May your brains not explode! (BTW, in case you really are dumb, I'll just go ahead and say this: SPOILERS if you haven't beaten the Kingdom Hearts game. *Eyeroll* Honestly.)
