Forum being upgraded this morning. - COMPLETED! August 29, 2005, 6:08 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Edit: And congratulations to myself, I managed to update my forums without blowing everything up and/or losing everything. I even managed to get my quick reply addon back up before I had to go to work. Dang I'm good this morning. XD So? What are you waiting for? Visit them! Join us! I didn't do all that work this morning just for my health, you know. In case you didn't notice, the forums got a little hacked last night (by the sloppiest hacker you'll have ever met). I cleaned things up but as suggested by a member, it might be best if I upgrade to the latest version. Honestly, I didn't think it was that far behind. So, I will try to get the upgrading done by this morning before I go off to work (8-4). If I don't manage it, don't feel bad if you visit and find things screwy. I'll complete what I was doing when I come back home.
Commentary: Ok... so I've always had this little problem with upgrading. I just don't want to. If one version works well, why bother? If it's not broke don't fix it. Unfortunately this line leads me to all kinds of mishaps better left undiscussed here. ^_^;; So I'm the world's worst upgrader. I'll improve. Trust a hacker to prompt me into the one action I hate the most.

That can't have been all of them... more looking... August 27, 2005, 4:57 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Meh, added nine more images after I got home. That was all that were on IGN that I saw which I didn't have. Let me look around some more on thet net. That can't have been all of them that I have missed? Or... is it? Was I more caught up than I thought I was? If you know where I can find some more, don't hesitate to e-mail me! And don't forget! Be sure to visit our Forums!
Commentary: By the way, did I mention I recently purchased Tales of Symphonia? It was on a rack for $15 brand new and I know a bargain when I see one. ^_^ w00t!! It's a beautiful game so far and a LOT of fun to play. I think it's most attractive attribute is that it's a multiplayer. XD Me and Rissa have been joint playing the whole thing. I had no idea about that feature until I picked it up and read on the box "multiplayer action." o_O ... "^_^ Oh Rissa!!!" However... even as I play it I still wonder if 1) It's really the 80 hour long gameplay it boasts on the back and 2) Sure it's wonderful and fun but I haven't seen too much yet to make it the #1 talk that it has been. Or am I still grading it too early? Not enough to sway my heart away from Kingdom Hearts just yet.

Attempting to get caught up with TP screenshots. August 27, 2005, 6:32 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Ok, so I haven't exactly been the most... effective screenshot collector. Well, this week will be spent catching up and getting up all of the screenshots possible into my poor insubstantial TP Screenshot Gallery. I give you eleven images this morning! And don't forget! Be sure to visit our Forums!
Commentary: I shall try to do better. I promise!! Meh -_- Now I have to go get ready for work. This 8-4 thing is really becoming a hassle. Bleh. The money is nice, though....

Space-Filler August 23, 2005, 5:21 PM EST by Dethl'sShadow
Updates: There is now a transcriptino of the Swordsman's Newsletters in the Minish Cap section. Just a space-filler, really, until I get the rest of the item pictures, which should be done by the end of the week. And don't forget! Be sure to visit our Forums!
Commentary: Feh. I've got nuthin' ta say.

Happy sixth birthday to Midnight Castle! August 21, 2005, 6:22 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: I think this image expresses today's announcement pretty well. Yes? Happy birthday to MCLoZ!! Yes, today, my lovely site is six years old. Oh wow. Six long years of fun and lots of hard work to bring you the latest Zelda news and the top Zelda content and ingenius help tips from the Zelda master herself (me!). Ok... so... WHERE'S MY CAKE?! Oh, that's right. Let me guess. Nobody remembered that today was MCLoZ's birthday. o_o Does that mean no presents, either? -_- How sad is that. I'm gonna cry. T-T. But, it's ok, because I didn't have much planned for you guys, either. So HA! Except.... there is... that... Should I give them that? I have worked quite a bit on that? Do I think that's ready? Guess I'll find out... Now announcing the re-opening of the MCLoZ Zelda Forums! For those MCLoZ Veterans, many of you will remember my decision to close the forums way back on March 1st when I closed them and put my energy into doing Anime and Manga reviews. Well, don't worry, the reviews will stay, but the decision was based heavily on how unpopular my forums were. I'm hoping with that segment of my past behind me and the heightened popularity of my site will now improve this.
Commentary: I really am interested in having a very big forums community. It's been one of my fonder dreams since I started the site. However, either I didn't have the proper software or my server crashed or someone ruined it for me. ^_^ I'm looking forward to seeing how well this does. However, if by the end of the year it doesn't work out, I think that will be the final end to all of my dreams on having a large forums community. ^_^ Please, visit the forums and have fun!
And again - HAPPY SIXTH BIRTHDAY TO MIDNIGHT CASTLE'S LEGENDS OF ZELDA!! ::Lifts a wine glass:: Here's in hopes of yet another wonderful and successful year in MCLoZ's history. Thanks goes out to all of my viewers and audience for making this possible. Without you, I probably would have lost interest a long time ago. And thanks goes out to the wonderful creator known as Shigeru Miyamoto for making such a wonderful series of games called The Legend of Zelda.

Twilight Princess delayed for 2006 worldwide release!! August 17, 2005, 11:18 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: According to IGN, Perrin Kaplin sent out an e-mail to the press today. The development team of Twilight Princess has requested more time for the completion of the game. While this may anger many fans, the game has been rescheduled for a world wide release sometime in 2006, instead of the former 2005 worldwide release everyone was anticipating. The precise date is still unknown and will be released at a new time. It was also confirmed that the game will still be released on GameCube.
Commentary: Not completely unexpected in my opinion, and I'm rather glad to hear it. It seemed to me during E3, a lot of things Aonuma were saying gave clear evidence that the storyline for the game wasn't even set in stone, yet. ^_^ It is also VERY good to hear that Miyamoto and company is taking charge of their deadline. In the past, OoT, MM, and TWW were both victims of their deadlines: released before Miyamoto was fully satisfied. I dunno about you but instead of angering me, this actually gives me more hope about the greatness of this game. Miyamoto will NOT allow the game to be a disappointment for us this time around.
In case many of you are wondering, yes, I did replace StarTear's article. While I appreciated it, she made a few mistakes I had to address and after a lot of thought, I thought it better to simply remove it. I'm sorry, Star. ^_^ Thank you for posting it, and if you haven't noticed, yet, I have sent you two e-mails better explaining my intentions. I have saved it just in case you can bring up a number of good arguments about why I might have been unjustified in that decision.

Salute to a brilliant grandfather. August 16, 2005, 7:38 PM EST by Dethl'sShadow
Updates: This is a small update. A few miscellaneous pictures have been added to the Items list. They're items I forgot to put on. And I've identified a few more since then, too.
Commentary: And in other news, my grandfather died last week. His funeral was yesterday. Being a WWII vet, he got a military ceremony, complete with a 21-gun salute. If you're the scholarly type, you may have heard of him. Robert Baker. He was a pretty well-known psychologist. And he's got the gigantic, cluttered basement library to prove it.
Just a small salute to a guy's grandpa.

First Day of Camp! Don't forget to participate! August 15, 2005, 7:11 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: For those of you who remembered to sign up to Camp Hyrule, don't forget that the fun starts today. Be sure to re-read the e-mails you received about a week ago to see what cabin you are in. Didn't receive an e-mail? Don't panic! Just sign in anyway and it should have your information posted somewhere. If you cannot sign in and you did register, I recommend getting in touch with NOA at invalidlogin@noa.nintendo.com. Don't miss out in the Cabin Chat today. You will be deciding the name of your Cabin as well as submitting flag designs (The image size should be 200 (w) x 150 (h) pixels, formatted as a jpg, pct, bmp or gif file). And don't forget that there are more things to do on the Trading Post. Participating in the Post activities will give your Cabin points and a better chance of becoming first Cabin this year.
Commentary: Eh? What cabin did I make? I'm in Cabin 2 this year. <_< I wonder how well I'll get to participate. I have to go to work from 9-4. -_- Doesn't this suck? Meh, oh well. I'll try to join in as much as I can after work. ^_^ Good luck everyone! I'll hopefully see you in the chatrooms. I just hope they do a better job with the chats than they did last year. What ever software they were using was just plain sucky, and this year, I don't even have DSL.

Ok, so I got sidetracked playing SSBM last night. August 13, 2005, 10:26 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: ^_^; Before I forget about this update again. Let me quickly post it before I have to run off to work. Link's Infinite List of Torture: Items 212-230 added by ChibiZelda, Shawn, Jonathan, ezlo, Ezlo, wolfshoott, Kathryne Vance, Zelda-Freek, WildMoon, dragoon731, Mike, Dancingredead1, Mike, Athelin, and martin foy.
Commentary: ^_^; So I got sidetracked playing SSBM with Rissa last night. o_O Oh God, I didn't realize how good of a video gamer she has gotten. I'm still use to the little annoying five year old that I would have to dumb down my gameplay for. XD She was whipping me all over the place with Marth last night and I was serious, too. *Sniffle* My little baby is growing up. Yeah... it was great last night. I can't be blamed too much for skipping an update to my video game site to play a video game... can I?? O:)

The game's beaten, my verdict is in! TWW over LttP?? August 12, 2005, 6:43 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: *None. I will later today, though, after work.
Commentary: Ok, ever since I bought TWW, many are dieing to find out whether or not in the end my ultimate favorite Zelda game, LttP, was defeated by TWW and would I be spending countless hours mastering TWW beyond a point that not even the game designers could have reached, much like I have done with LttP. ^_^ Let's find out. I comprised a random list of all the qualities that I want in a Zelda game and based them on a 10 point system. Let's see which one adds up in the end:
Graphics: LttP: 10 | TWW: 10 Storyline: LttP 10 | TWW: 8 Music: LttP: 10 | TWW: 9 Characters: LttP: 7 | TWW: 10 Magic Moments: LttP: 10 | TWW: 9 Cinematics: LttP: 7 | TWW: 10 World to Explore: LttP: 10 | TWW: 9 Secrets *unmapped* Hidden in World: LttP: 10 | TWW: 9 Dungeons: LttP: 10 | TWW: 9 Number of Dungeons: LttP: 10 | TWW: 8 Puzzles: LttP: 10 | TWW: 7 Emotional Attachment: LttP: 10 | TWW: 9 Difficulty: LttP: 9 | TWW: 8 Overall Fun: LttP: 10 | TWW: 10 Ending:: LttP: 10 | TWW: 7
Final Score! LttP: 143 | TWW: 129
^_^ Yes, while TWW was a WONDERFUL game and it certainly bumps LA for second, it still lacks a lot of things. The ending was one of them as well as the number of dungeons. I thought the ending was very poor. Ok, but LttP didn't have much of an ending is what you're going to say, yes? Wrong! The song itself was the ending and the many events that were corrected and emotional involvment played a big part in that ending. TWW... no I'm sorry, there's just no comparison. I gave Exploring of World a higher grade than I probably should have. LttP took me at least three years to explore all of the cave systems and to find all the "unmapped" secrets. TWW has those secrets... you just need maps to find them or decide to sit there and sail. Puzzles also received a low score. The ones that were there were REALLY nice. However... there was no "where's the switch" "what? THERE'S A ROOM BEHIND THAT WATERFALL!" "So... which statue do I shoot an arrow into... Oh! Wait! ^_^; I move that statue onto a switch I just found."
Oh well. ^_^ It's a wonderful second and I will be playing it A LOT. Oh, and another question: did the sailing bother me? Absolutely not! And I thought it was one of the better parts of the game. ^_^;; One destination would take me three hours simply because I couldn't remain focused enough since I was always looking for the "rays of light" treasures, playing with seagulls, or playing with the barrels that randomly appear. No, I loved the sailing. XD It was fun!
Oh, but, I will be treating TWW like a LttP. Yes, I'll be spending countless hours memorizing each monster in a room, the quickest way to do that, or where all the secrets lie, plus find all those figurines. <3

Yet again, I apologize for the long wait for this to arrive. August 10, 2005, 8:42 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: I have finally re-typed up the Slayers Anime Review and you can hop over and read it in the Anime and Manga Reviews. Sorry it took such a long while. >_> Typing that much up, it really sucks to have to re-type it all.
Commentary: Wah! Well, I gotta go to work now! ;) Just a small update before I had to run off. Tata guys!! (I'm almost finished with TWW.)

Warning: Working on a little something for the updates. August 3, 2005, 9:23 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Ok, I forgot to do this on the 1st and I apologize. I moved July's updates into the archives. (Yeah! /sarcasm). Anyways, main important thing, I'm going to be messing around with the updating system this morning (today... whenever), along with many other things. Don't be alarmed if I screw up somehow and you see something strange. No, sorry, no review yet. After you type something, you lose interest to retype it. That plus TWW has had my undivided attention.
Commentary: I want you to know, I'm not losing interest in MCLoZ. My attention is just being diverted. We all have these little lapses. I'm coming back, I promise ^_^. Hopefully if what I plan on doing today works and I can manipulate it the way I want, my attention will once more be refocused on MCLoZ.

Enjoying The Wind Waker now... I couldn't resist buying it! August 1, 2005, 12:40 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Zelda Secrets and Oddities - Peculiar Game Glitches: MM: "Anyone Rides Epona" by Shade and "Ride Epona as Fierce Deity Link" by Shade. ~ Zelda Secrets and Oddities - Strange Observations: TWW: "CameCube Garden" by Bob.
Commentary: ^_^ Yep, I bought it! Hey, come on, when you're shopping over at Target and you just happen to see The Wind Waker there, while religiously checking the gaming section, and see that it is priced for $20 - it's just not something you pass up. That was the day before yesterday and all yesterday I had to work from 8-4. I managed to get out of Forsaken Fortress and it drove me nuts having to stay away for that long. *Sniffle* I beat Dragon Roost Cavern last night and can't wait to see what will happen today... but thought I should prolly do my website. Umm... oh... where's the Anime and Manga review? Due to technical difficulties (DON'T ask. Random stupidity has plagued me all week and erasing it after typing it up was the least of my problems) I have to re-write it. It's about the anime Slayers though. I should have it done tomorrow or on the 3rd. I have today through Wednesday off. (The worst part was, I erased it back when I was typing up the Castle History - that long ago - and didn't even realize it until today when I was going to post it up. o_o I hadn't saved it to the official document! >_< BAKA BAKA BAKA!!)
As for my opinions so far on The Wind Waker and about the graphics? ^_^ I think it is completely ADORABLE! I knew the about the graphics and that in the occassional cinematic Link would prolly show a few emotions, but I didn't think those emotions would be shown so often! Even simply bowing to that rich pompous on Windfall Island when you break all his vases was such a thrill. And to even hear the characters "speak" slightly without destroying the silent-Link tradition was a delight. I don't see how anyone could be disappointed in the game. Maybe as I go through and the flaws start to show. ::Shrugs:: But so far, this is actually the first Zelda Rissa, my youngest sister, has chosen to pick up.
