My silence does not mean I do not care for you.
June 29, 2005, 6:17 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Hey... ^_^; sorry guys for the lack of updates. However, while I haven't exactly been posting the news on the main site it does not mean I'm not working hard for you. If you have visited the Image Gallery recently, you'll see what I mean. I've been adding up all the image files. I have finished the first three games (LoZ, AoL, and LttP) and am now starting on LA. *Sigh* So much work done and still a frightening amount left to complete.

Edit: One last thing before I rush off to work. I have updated the links in the game sections so that when you click on Screens, Official Art, or Packaging Artwork you will be directed to the gallery, which is a lot more fun to view than the original techniques I used.

Commentary: Well... this is it... tomorrow I may just be going back in to surgery. o_O *Urk*... Well... I hope it doesn't get delayed again. I have to get in touch with my case worker today who called but wouldn't allow my parents to set the schedule up. WTF?! Tch, whatever. People find any excuse to make your life as difficult as possible.

BTW, if you guys are interested, I know I can go on and on about my The Little Questors story. I finally posted up the first chapter (unedited) up on the ZE Forums. If you are interested, here's the link. I look forward to hearing your comments ^_^. The Little Questors - story

Two overly delayed, very important announcements.
June 26, 2005, 9:51 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: My sincerest apologies goes out to Zelda X, our newest affiliate. I have had his link up on our site for a while now, but I'm afraid certain things have come up and I just couldn't get around to announcing it. It's an awesome site ran by a really kewl webmaster, with whom I chat with frequently. | In addition, focus your attention up to the main header of our site. You will notice that instead of an image that reads "The Zelda Poll" it now reads "The ZE Forums". ^_^ Please visit them in our effort to save them!

Commentary: You don't really want to hear the details of my abscence do you? Ok, long story short. My eye surgery failed. In a rare occurance I healed too slowly, some scar tissued pulled back down on my retina popping the buckle out of place. Now I've got to go back for surgery to get a permanent liquid injected in place of the now-nearly-extinct gas bubble. That is ... after I have a fight with paper work in an attempt to get medical assisstance to pay for it all. You want the long version? Visit: ZE Forums > The Emotions and Feelings Topic. The story is my second post on that page down around the bottom.

Aaaah....I forgot!! Nooooooo!!
June 20, 2005, 10:03 PM EST by Dethl'sShadow
Updates: The "Special Items" section of the Minish Cap Items guide is now picturified. Or something to that effect.

Commentary: Aaaah....I got the update message in the moring, but I completely and utterly forgot to do the update until now! and it's past 10:00 at night! Ack!

Announcing something very important to me!!!
June 20, 2005, 6:46 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: First, the small talk: today's update, the Twilight Princess Screenshots have been added to the gallery. I just need to kinda... re-route the section's link still.

Next, something ten times more important. For a long time, MCLoZ has been a proud affiliate of Zelda Elements until it closed down last summer. It was planned by webmaster Nexus Zero to reopen and we all held our breaths waiting for this autumn. However, yesterday, Nexus officially announced that for various reasons his website would not be returning.

While I'm grieved to hear that, as ZE was the only site I looked upon as a role model, I am even more worried about its forums. Many of you already know that I am a frequenter of the ZE Forums for the last year since it opened. It's very rare for me to frequent forums and this is the only time I've ever last so long and still love them so.

While the forums will continue to stay around, it is quite obvious that a forums can not last that long without a parent site. While I don't know how successful this will prove, I have decided to adopt ZE... or well, just link to it. And it will be MCLoZ's forums since we lack our own. I am not the Admin there, but I am a MOD. ^_^ I invite you all to visit this fantastic forums and to join in our wonderful conversations and attempt to keep this wonderful community alive. Thank you all and I hope to see you all there!

Visit the Zelda Elements Forums!!

Commentary: I love those forums so much. Hopefully this will help in some way. *Sigh* I so don't want to see this community vanish. I've formed quite a number of friendships from Dae-kun, to Hanyou-ni and linkthewarrior, and even the cute Hotaru Neko-chan. ^_^ Nexus- and Nate-sama included.

Swiped that off my To-Do List!
June 19, 2005, 4:14 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Hahaha, the Fan Art Gallery is now loaded up in the Image Gallery. It will be located under my name. When/if any of those names make an account and continue their own galleries, I'll move those images to their own accounts.

Commentary: That was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Time consuming but I was expecting it to be a lot more... painful than it was. LOL.

No fan fiction after all... people please submit properly...
June 19, 2005, 12:18 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: "Cameos: Where's Mario?" Has been updated with LA's Anti-Kirby list item. ~ I have also updated my To-Do List. T-T It's so long now. How will I ever get it back down to a managable length. *Sigh* My new toy requires a lot of work. ^_^ But, I'm very happy to see that it's doing quite well. I guess I'll just have to work on it one game section at a time and hope for the best. I'm also putting Akomander's newest Beta Files on hold until I get something else accomplished on there. I think I will tackle the Fan Art section first.

Commentary: No, there's no Fan Fiction. The person who sent it did not send it in a .txt or .doc format. People, my computer does not read .rar, .email, .anything else that is not typical default on a computer. *Sigh* Oh well, I suppose now I can just hurry and get to work on my toy. Yeah, I'm working on the gallery so don't be surprised to see strange updates to it and all that I haven't announced. And if I temporarily close it down don't be too alarmed it will be back up in a few seconds. Depends on what I think is best at the time. I doubt that I will, though.

I told you I would catch up on my work... now where to start....
June 19, 2005, 1:31 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Ok, here's the updats that I have so far. The most important first, Zelda News:

It seems that Sony music has announced the re-release of the famous (but not too great) Zelda Cartoons. They will be released in a 3 disc collection for $29.95. The release is scheduled for October 11th. In addition, though not really Zelda news, for those interested in the much more enjoyable Super Mario Bros. Super Show, it will be released on a 4 disc set on October 25th.

Now, updates, which will be Oddities and Torture Items. Zelda Secrets and Oddities - Peculiar Game Gltiches: LttP: "Jump Backwards" by Drumstick | LttP/FS: "Grass on the Wall" by evilchibiduck | OoT: "More on Shape Shifting Room" by Triforce_Hunter | TMC: "Bomb Glitch" by the_dubster. ~ Zelda Secrets and Oddities - Unusual Tips and Tricks: OoT: "Gossip Stones" by Triforce_Hunter | MM: "Extra Rupees" by Triforce_Hunter ~ Zelda Secrets and Oddities - Strange Observations: OoT: "Shaking Doors" by Triforce_Hunter and "Jaws" by Ford | MM: "GCN Gerudo Symbol on N64" by Jinkondorf | OoA: "Gerudo Veran" by Jinkondorf

Link's Infinite List of Torture: Items 202-206 have been added by martin foy, Jinkondorf, Chaotic_Seraphi, Frobisher, and moo.

The Beta Zelda Files - In the TBZF Image Gallery, I have added OoT Files 103-105. (My new gallery makes everything so much more simple XD)

Commentary: Ok, does this earn me the right to go to bed? I think I did a pretty darn good job today. I even worked on and coded Dethl's latest assignment. I have to do Neko's yet, but he's away so I'm not that worried about it... now that sounded wrong. -_- I'll do it tomorrow. ^_^ And then, I'll put up that fan fiction and I'll get to be able to start more work on my Image Gallery. w00t! ....What to do first.... ::drools::

Errr... we can count this as the 18th's update... right? I mean... my tomorrow never officially starts until I've gotten out of bed ^_^ and I haven't even made it that far yet. More tomorrow... I hope... no - I PROMISE!

After weighing the pros and cons... I decided it was time!
June 17, 2005, 10:33 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: ^_^ And I'm done. You all ready to know what the big surprise is? The New MCLoZ Image Gallery!! Most sites now adays have them, but MagicFox, the PHP-incompetent, never did but kinda wished she could. Why? The two big reasons are what are already up and read in the gallery.

The Beta Zelda Files are now loaded into the Image Gallery. ALL of them... along with the comments that visitors have sent in over the years. They are all up and under their proper images. *Sniffle* T-T I think I'm going to cry. It's so beautiful. Visitors can now post their comments below the pictures.

And, the Fan Art Gallery is now activated on the Image Gallery. It won't be "viewable" until someone adds their art, but it's there. Read the Rules and Regulations page to learn how to use it, if you don't know already.

But, I have my work cut out for me. It's not going to just stop there. I am going to place the current Fan Art up into the gallery at a later time, as well as official art, screens, and box art. I'm GOING to get a full use out of that gallery. ^_^ It's so exciting.

Commentary: I hate, PHP, though. It took a lot of weighing pros and cons to convince me to go through with this.

Pros - makes my life easier, just upload an image and the thumbnails are already made and it's up on the site. No extra effort on my part. It's also far more viewer friendly and visitors can post comments below each picture. The Fan Art gallery is definitely a better feature and will cut down my work when visitors send pictures to my account and I have to load them up.

Cons - It's a PHP database. If something happens to the site server.... it's gone. Most of you know me. I'm VERY untrusting. Every single page, every single image, every single midi, it's ALL on my computer. ::Shrugs:: The most I've ever had to worry about was losing the forums but that didn't bother me. This will. I don't know what I'm going to do, but I will do back ups (no matter how much time it takes to download that stuff) or just figure out something else. It's my main concern.

Another Con... everyone else has it... but... that was quickly replaced with the thought "because it's a good feature! Of course they'd want it!"

And my biggest Con - I don't know PHP and I don't know how to set one up!! And I don't feel like e-mailing a friend to whine to him anymore. I HATE depending on others. Others aren't very dependable and they don't want to spend their precious time on me and I don't blame them. Well, I woke up the morning of deciding, it's time to try, got on the site and was like "let's just download and go from there and do the best we can, Max. If I run into problems and can't figure them out, then I guess I don't have to worry about the Cons because they won." ^_^ I downloaded, unzipped, loaded it up, and went to the set up page. It took me a moment to figure out what that greek was asking for but... I figured it out. The "database" had me stumped for a few minutes when I remembered something in my panel that said "database" so I went and dabbled and figured it out. I'm so proud of myself.

Well, ^_^ I hope you guys enjoy the gallery. Updates will continue and then I'll get to work on the gallery which will consume my every waking thoughts now until its done, but it will come second to everything else that I've got to do *sniffle* which is a lot.

MWHAHAHA - FEAR ME!! I HAVE A GALLERY FINALLY!!

About Updates..... not until my return... mwhahahaha!
June 15, 2005, 7:49 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: No updates until my return. I'm working on something rather special right now that is for MCLoZ... so I kinda am updating. I'm rather anxious to get it done. I've been working on it since my last update. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

Commentary: T-T And just think, if I get it finished.... how much more it will be helpful around the site. I've always wanted it!! Tried to get Josh to set up it up before but he wasn't interested. ::Shrugs:: I think the biggest achievment is that I set it up myself. o_O WOAH! I was rather surprised and I'm impressed with myself. ^_^ Well, I'll see you guys later. Hopefully it will get done soon. I hope no more than two more days.

"Call out Gouranga be happy." What the heck....
June 12, 2005, 10:42 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: ^_^ I just couldn't wait to save this for tomorrow, especially when I have to go to work from 9-4. Whee~ The Beta Zelda Files - The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has been updated. File 64 was edited. While Files 65-102 were added. ^_^ All of which, excluding 64, were contributed by Akomander. THANK YOU SO MUCH, AKO-SAMA!!

Commentary: While uploading the images I checked my e-mail today. Meh, the usual stuff, fans e-mailing, (one even asking for the previous update's title translation *sigh*), and then... a very odd one sent to me by "Neateye" [Nitaigouranga@aol.com], Subject: "Gouranga". As funny as the subject sounds, just wait... the e-mail gets better.

Call out Gouranga be happy!!!
Gouranga Gouranga Gouranga ....
That which brings the highest happiness!!

WTF?! XD Great, now I'm being tracked down by some occult. Either that or someone just wanted to have fun with me. I must say, it's the most hillarious e-mail I've ever gotten. No, nothing attached, got by my spam blocker, I really had no idea. Intrigued, I typed it into Google to see what I would get. Here's a website I found Call out Gouranga be happy?" Seems I'm not the only one who has received it or been equally as perplexed. ::Shrugs:: XD What some people won't do for attention. I'm debating on clicking the "Reply" button. It's so very tempting. ::Shrugs:: Either way, why should I scream out "Gouranga", his e-mail brought more than enough happiness to last all week XD.

Donna toki mo jibun o akiramenai... DOJI mo aikyou to waratte
June 12, 2005, 1:00 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: And for today's update: Link's Infinite List of Torture. Items #196-201 have been added by peteyboo, hmph..., Termina Recca Overdrive, Kathryne Vance, cody lee jackson, and LightDemonCodeH. Thanks everyone! ^_^ And we have finally passed the 200 mark. Once I get caught up with everything, I've got an idea up my sleeve that I might just try to celebrate this event, belated though it might be.

Commentary: @_@ *Sigh* Things have really caught up with me this time. But it's not the Oddities or Torture Items like it usually is. Considering, I have very few of those in my mail box than I usually do. It's the really large things. This is what is resting in my mailbox: a fan fiction, several box art images, a Twilight Princess interview article, Dethl's and Neko's weekly updates, and the most important thing which has me drooling and which I've been working on since six o'clock last night... over 30+ images of OoT Beta pictures submitted to me by a wonderful person who has my eternal gratitude. And these have some juicy stuff in them, too. Kyaaa <3. And all of these obviously contributed by fans with the exception of Dethl's and Neko's stuff. Well... the one who did the interview and the box art was going to be a staff member but he didn't turn in his trial assignment. *Sniffle* I could cry... but ::shrugs:: *Sigh* So, yeah, I'm spending most of today on the computer... *sniffle* I won't get discouraged by my work load.... no... I won't.... ::runs off and cries::

Because I know I'll get hammered with e-mails asking "what the heck" the title is from the lyrics of "Don't Be Discouraged" the ending song to the anime Slayers Try. Look it up on Anime Lyrics.

Things hectic at work and on the net. Will I ever get a moment?
June 10, 2005, 7:23 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Today's update so far is quite simple. In The Beta Zelda Files - Ocarina of Time section, File #64 has been added. Many thanks goes out to the contributor, Jinkondorf.

Commentary: Yesterday was last day of school and a half day for the kiddies. I had to work yesterday, too. >_> Now, guess how many people decided "oh, let's go have McDonald's to celebrate this fine event." And then, guess who decided to pop in for a surprise inspection at the hour of the day when we REALLY didn't need her to be there. A head honcho who was in a bad mood. >_< I felt bad for my manager. She had be go out and do windows just shortly before the woman came and I was doing them when she came but she still took off for windows not being done. o_O WHAT?! *Sigh* As if the job wasn't taking me from much more important activities such as stocking since I knew we were going to get plastered. I give up.

And as for the net, my e-mail box is pretty full. I've got a few wonderful treats, and even received a fan fiction yesterday. XD Yeah! Hopefully I'll be able to work on some of this stuff today. Anyways, there were just a few things I wanted to inform you guys.

About Staff Applications: Please, if you are going to take the time to fill them out, make yourself sound like you have more than a third grade education. If I see another "j00" or "i" I'm going to kill someone. No, this doesn't impress me, and no you're not getting on the staff like that. And I will not be nice. Stupidity annoys me.

Submitting pictures: PLEASE winzip them and do NOT use .rar. I have no idea what this file type is or what application runs it, but it's definitely not on my computer.

Beta Files: For some reason, OoT Beta is becoming very popular all of a sudden and people are turning things in. The funniest part though is not even half the stuff is legit. Please, don't waste my time and don't think you can get something by me. I've been on the net for over 10 years, MCLoZ has been online for nearly six. I was an avid in-production screenshot collector as well as for videos (which I will accept these by the way and add them into the Beta Files) and there's not a whole lot you can get past me. I'll send scathing comments to these idiots as well. Remember, kiddies, I was playing Zelda long before many of you were out of your diapers.

Still not Zelda... or updates either... I'm trying.....
June 8, 2005, 10:31 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: In this new (yet short) interview with Shigeru Miyamoto he makes quite a few valid points how future innovation might be going in the wrong direction and how he misses the days of simplicity.

Commentary: Yes! No more 3D sh.. stuff!! Let's go back to the cute little sprites that jump around on the screen and are so cute and adorable to look at and you can make cute little avatars out of them XD. At least when it was just sprites, the focus was more on storyline and how the games played. You know, the day I bought LttP I said I bought the great game in the world and I couldn't wait to plug it into my system. Now I buy a game and I'm desperately hope "Please let this not be a waste of my money."

^_^ I think the games for the gameboy, while not quite as long, have had far more success so far in my book than the games for PS2 or whatever. I'm enjoying Fire Emblem: Sacred Stone by the way. Sure, not an epic RPG and the character scenarios could have been done better, but the storyline is pretty good and I'm really enjoying the whole tactics aspect. XD And I love the adorable graphics!!!

Come on... when was the last time we had games as epic as Final Fantasy 6, or A Link to the Past, or Tales of Phantasia, or Terranigma? ^_^ Or, heck, if we want to go back even further, the arcade games were just as good. Hahaha ^_^; awww the endless hours of Pacman on the original Atari.

Not exactly Zelda, but it's interesting enough.
June 4, 2005, 9:05 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Zelda Legends has posted a new interview up on their site. This interview is with Scott Gall, a localization manager few have heard of simply because we rarely hear about the managers. ^_^ Not only is this an extremely interesting read and will inform you a lot on what translators face and how they try to do things, but, it was done by Zelda Legend's own lord-of-shadow. I know how hard it is interviewing people. I think he did a WONDERFUL job!

Commentary: Way to go, l-o-s! And don't be so hard on yourself. Anyways, uhh... yeah, about updating. <_< >_> *Cough* ^_^;; ::Runs away:: Might be awhile and I apologize to the folks that have stuff sleeping in my mailbox. I've got birthday money and I'm going shopping today. Hrrrm, I think I'll check out one of the Fire Emblem games (if I can find the original, if I can't, I'll buy Sacred Stones). It's been a long time since I purchased a non-RPG game, though from what I understand Fire Emblem is a blend of strategy and RPG. ::Shrugs:: Sounds fun. I think I need a break from RPGs. At least, I haven't found an RPG that filled that ... eye-popping gap and I guess I'm getting annoyed at the let down. *Sigh* Wish I had a GameCube and could check out Tales of Symphonia.

(Ready, guys? 3... 2... 1...)
June 2, 2005, 7:58 AM EST by NekoOtaku
Updates: Check it out. It's Section 1 of the Majora's Mask walkthrough.

Commentary: And, of course, a Happy Birthday to Maxine MagicFox! ^_^ I don't have any presents... Sorry! ^^'
Well, the other day I bought Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons, both in working condition, for ten stinking bucks. No, not ten each, total. Ten bucks for two games! Beat THAT!
So now all I need are the original LoZ and LA... Yes... the collection shall soon be complete...

Tomorrow's my birthday! Ok, where's my presents?
June 1, 2005, 9:43 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: I updated the News Archives. You can find May 2005's update log in the Past Updates Archives. Yeah, whatever, have fun. About four years of logs stored there. Do you guys find that stuff interesting? ::Shrugs::

Commentary: ^_^ And to answer everyone's favorite annoying question "How old are you, anyway, Max?" I'm going to be 21 tomorrow. God that feels old. Hahaha, yeah, and as I've constantly been reminded, I'm now legal drinking age. Fine, I'll bring the beer, guys, if you bring the presents. If I don't have at least one GameCube or Twilight Princess preorder, someone's head is going to meet my dull-ax-of-gore-pain-and-agony! And believe me >:] It won't be pretty. MWHAHAHAHAA.

No, don't expect me to get hammered. I don't drink. The smell of it does unnatural things to my stomach. But reflecting on the headaches I've enjoyed watching my high school friends have, I'm not missing much. I laugh at the world's stupidity.

Aww, poor Neko-kun, anime-less. This probably won't help.
June 1, 2005, 9:48 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: ^_^ For today's update: It's the first! I'll have to move the update logs later (I got called into work last minute, just waiting on my ride), but for now, just content yourself with this month's Anime and Manga Review. It's covering Weird Anime Excel Saga! ^_^ A personal favorite of mine.

Commentary: Mwahahahaa. Hey, Dethl, I bet you can't top this one either. Ok... maybe FLCL could but... ^_^ You already used FLCL. Hahahaha. Anyways, enjoy reading guys. I get off at four, expect more updates by then.
