Commentary: Continuing from the previous Update Post:

I was also asked why I started MCLoZ. ^_^;; Ummm, this was a tougher one to answer. I started a site because I thought HTML coding was fun and interesting (the site itself was just the by-product) and I just picked something to write about. Though, those who know me, should also know the many transformations of my site in the past and my other projects. *Sigh* From original Midnight Castle (about books, games, movies, and music), to MCLoZ, then Midnight Castle's Anything Website (back to books, games, movies, and music), then I also had a joint Tolkien website, later dropped that and did a joint anime site (Project: Anime Cartoons) which almost took over MCAWS. In addition I also did a "stories" site called Forever Legends. Then I returned to MCLoZ. Did another joint Tolkien site (Tolkien Report) but that didn't last long. Then my server died and I took up D.N.Angel and Megami Kouhosei fan site (Heavenly Secrets). Brought MCLoZ back. And just last year I did attempt an Anime Blog site but that idea crashed and burned. Oh and for an extra credit assignment, I also opened up a Mythology website (actually, I just took the layout from MCAWS). o_O All in five years?

My "intention" for MCLoZ? Nothing but fun! I'm prolly the most sporadic webmaster out there and honestly - I don't even have a hit counter. I couldn't care less about that aspect, though it's nice for bragging rights. Honestly, I work on MCLoZ just for the sheer joy of working on it and messing with the codes. (Yeah, after five years I still think that part is kewl and it's why I don't give a fig for PHP.)

Those were some interesting questions. o_O Maybe I should update/re-do that Castle History page which is pretty ... pathetic.... Anyways, you know, if you type my name into a Google search... ::blushes:: You'll no doubt find many of the lasting... examples.... of a few of those died projects.

I've been asked a lot of odd ones but I think that one takes the cake, though it had never occurred to me some newbies might think that. :P MCLoZ belongs to me!! And I will never hand it down to anyone even when I do leave. I've spent five years of my life on here and I'm not going to hand it down to someone who will take the few bits and pieces of content/ideas they like, change the site name, and then the layout.

Updates: Ok, there's a lot and I'm sure to forget something (I hope not) so... here we go. First, basic stuff. Affiliate Animal Crossing Online (Devilitchi's site) gets a new domain and a REALLY nice new layout. ~ New staff member Darktl corrected me that it was his typo all along and that he really was "Dark" and I don't have to put a "d" in front of it. ^_^ My grammar is saved! LOL.

Now, the other stuff that has consumed my last few days: New Introduction Game Strategy pages. Well, click one of the links to the Zelda games and scroll down a little. The tops will look the same at first... at first. ^_^ Yeah, I put a content list up instead of just having you guys rely on that little drop down menu. Other changes that have simultaneously occured: All the drop down menus should have a "Back to Choose Your Page" and all the Instruction Booklet Story pages should ONLY list the story(s). If you notice any errors anywhere, please be sure to e-mail me and tell me! Thank you!!

Commentary: Meh, I like Content pages, don't get me wrong, but I never wanted to put one up because every other site does as well! However, working on the site after a long trip away and trying to remember what I do and don't have... I realized, MCLoZ REALLY needs one simply due to the sheer number of pages each section has. It has helped, too. I went through and remembered and spotted quite a lot of the work that I had totally forgotten about and meant to do (the Four Swords Palace walkthrough for instance >_<). Meh... I still don't like the thought of following every other site... but... it was needed.

^_^ Either way, though, I think my Triforce Content bars look REALLY good. Don't you agree? It took me some doing to get them to look THAT nice (they looked really fuzzy at first with that outer glow) but I'm learning Photoshop rather well now. Anyways, I think I deserve a break after all of that. I'm taking today off. ... I think... I do love working on the site LOL.

Updates: Ok, today's updates? I finished the other half of the Potion Shops after once again refinding them all. That wasn't really a lot of fun, either. I will try to empty my mailbox and tack it on to here later. ~ On another note: I never realized it but o_O my screenshot galleries for all the games are not done. I thought they were. Whoops. I better get on that. >_< Darn!

Commentary: No no no. I don't want to bash them... meh, I don't feel like having to apologize to another site. Not today anyway. Zelda Universe however updated today with a new design. I'm not afraid of change. I throw away 300 pages of my story to start over again for the fifth time. I've tried to change even my site design. While I wasn't a particular fan of the previous ZU design, I can't say my opinions on this one are much better now, either. It's n00bish! It's all white, lacks a lot of color and decoration and is repitious. And... it's not much fun in the way of playing around (not that it was originally anyway). Sure there are a few images but... nothing that makes up for the blandness of it all.

*Sigh* I have to argue with the comment made by Lars "It just might grow on you, because it is infact a pretty nice design, from a designer's point of view!" Which designer is he talking about? You can count this one out. Zelda Vortex's design is nice so far. It has color and flare. Zeld Universe's, however... there's nothing to it but a bunch of simple cropped images. A design that could be made in a single day. I'm rather disappointed. Hopefully their designer regains some common sense enough in the future to make some changes. Professional? Yes, the new design is, but cute or kewl, or even fun. Well, ZU's design has never been fun, but now, it's not even kewl or smooth looking.

What do I mean when I say fun? I mean, changing images, rollovers, randoms. Or just even nice cut outs like on ZV with the "Current News". ZU tried to have rollovers, but the downloading speed was murder.

But, I wish ZU the best of luck! ^_^ Forgive my criticism. You all know how I am.

Updates: Meh... a new intro image... Looks kewl I think. Had made it of him at first with his sword out but then I realized o_O I have too many images of a Link with a drawn sword on the front page. ^_^ So I changed it. Can't really go wrong. I like the change, too. Rinku-chan is so CUTE.

Updates: IMDb, a suppose-to-be reliable site according to Zelda Universe, updated with content for Zelda Realistic - voice casting information. Listed as the voice for Ganondorf Dragmire is Takashi Nagasako, the same person who voiced Ganondorf in TWW. Link, the only other name on the list, was labeled as "unconfirmed". Curious. Even more curious is the fact that in the TWW listing, Ganon is only titled as "Ganondorf". Why the extra effort to put in "Dragmire"? Do they know something that we don't?

Commentary: Honestly! Why is everyone so surprised to see that Ganondorf is "confirmed" (or at least that's they way they are acting on Zelda Universe). I kinda felt it obvious that Ganon would be in the game. There's two game series going right now. The main branch with Link-Zelda-Ganon, then the new Four Swords with Link-Zelda-Vaati. I seriously doubted they would have made another branch off. Especially for a game as high classed as this. Well, whatever. You people worry me sometimes. ... *Sigh* I'm sure the timeline-fanatics are going to go crazy with this tidbit. Me... I think it's true. I've never been to IMDb before but they look serious enough.

Updates: Yesterday's Update (whoops): Potion Shop Locations were added up for the Legend of Zelda game section. However, the page only currently covers Quest 1. I will get to work on Quest 2 as soon as I remember where they all were o_O;;

Today's Updates (failed): I replaced the "Special Feature" section above the links so that it only displays images (two at the moemnt) for "Release Dates:". Something that I think would be a lot more valued at the moment. ~ And I updated the Zelda Poll. Actually, I didn't really have a new poll to put up, so I put this one up for fun and out of my own pure interest. I want to know how the DS ratings are going just from my viewers. (Yeah, remember, I still think it's going to crash and burn.)

Commentary: Yeah, like my title says. I was bored yesterday and just worked on generally anything (art projects) that came to mind and one of those was a new site template. ::Shrugs:: At the end all I had was a half decent version 8.2 that was so similar it was like "what's the point?" and lacked a lot of the features I love about this one. ^_^ So many things I can play with and change. Those two new images are all that came out of yesterday's art program playing. Well... that and I picked up a few more tricks. Plus I did a few non-Zelda works.

::Shrugs:: Anyways, odd, Zelda Vortex is making a new site design as well. Looks decent, as usual. Meh, I tried to go "realistic" too, but I like the cartoonish feel of mine, too much. TMC Link is just SO cute. No matter how good the Realistic game is, at the end I know to me, it's not going to really be all that impressive to me. -_- I wish Nintendo would go back to making big games with sprite characters. Commentary: Hee, I'm sure most of you are acquainted with my dog, Blou, and my cat, Max, who I've always mentioned as being "Behind the Scenes" workers. Yeah... it's a lot of work to try and drag me away or delete whole lines of my work. Well, you know the screenshots lately? I owe a lot of thanks to my twelve year old sister who helped contribute a few of those one line comments about the pictures, especially today's. ^_^ At least one of them tries to contribute "somehow". Hee, she's rather psyched by the trailer and sorta stuck around as I worked on my site. (Hahaha, I had to laugh at the last one she gave me today "Killage spree"! XD That's my sister!!)

Updates: Ok, tada! I, myself, have tore apart the trailer for you and picked out some nice exciting scenes. How many screenshots did I get for you? Twenty-four. ^_^; I wasn't actually going to put them all up at first but after getting them I'm like "what the heck!" ~ Also, there was a new Official Art picture released during the Iwata speech. I hope someone comes out with a higher quality version of it, though. But it's the best I could find.

Updates: March 2005 Investigation has been added and is entitled, "Doh's Investigations - Overview (Part 1)" This Investigation looks over and updates previous Investigations written from the start (November 2001) to the end of 2002.

Commentary: I'm all sad that I'm posting this news post. Indeed my Investigations are now coming to their end, I am now at University and am having to cut down on things, and sadly my Investigations are apart of the cutting down plan. There will be a part 2 of the overview next month, but then that's it.
It's been fun and you never know, I could make a brief return sometime, there are some Investigations I've wanted to write or even started to write.

Updates: For The Minish Cap game section, the Official Art page has been updated. And for Zelda Realistic page, the screenshot gallery has been updated. I decided not to bother with the TMC Screenshot gallery since there's enough images and the game is now out. It's a lot of labor with little point, I think.

Commentary: Alright! I'm all caught up, I think. About time, I'd say. Well, anyhow, my mailbox is full of fan stuff and I have a staff member's project to code and put up on the site. Updates: And ta-da! The Zeruda no Densetsu Manga page is now up for you to read and learn. Ok, so it's not my art or screenshot galleries, but... that page has been bothering me for quite sometime so I decided just to knock it off the list.

Commentary: -_- You don't even wanna know what I went through to do those pathetically simple images on that page. I don't have the mangas on my computer. And I needed at least one page from each manga series. So, guess what I had to do. I went to Zelda Legends and downloaded the tiniest file on the page from each series and still it all took about 2 hours (FOR ONE PAGE). On top of it all, I couldn't do the nice design I had had in mind for the page. o_O I didn't think some of the scans would be so... crappy... no offense to the scanners and translators but... my GOD! So I went with a spur of the moment idea and still don't really like it. So, I'm mad now. I waste two hours of my life on you guys. I hope you are happy!!

The worst part of it is, I still wish I had the actual mangas up for you guys to download. But saddly, the webmast of ZnD.com denied me, giving me a perefectly understandable not very logical reason why. ^_^; She said, she didn't want them to become too popular and be asked to stop by Nintendo. (Has she ever been to Manga Jouhou? And she didn't have a problem with me linking to her site or ZL. Trying to figure that one out is enough to give me a headache.) I suppose I could ask the others that aren't part of ZnD but... those aren't even anywhere near complete and aren't the ones I want to host. Maybe I'll ask again. It was several months ago when I first asked... ::bites lip:: I think though I'll wait until I at least get DSL.

Commentary: Ah....so good to be back. It's been so long...Long enough, in fact, for me to become obsessed with .hack, and to discover the strategy gaming joy that is Fire Emblem.

The current state of my life? Well, my anime and manga collection is as pathetically small as ever, I've got a backlog of games that'll last me till the new Zelda comes out, and I've finally given in and gotten Golden Sun.

Updates: Boxart for The Minish Cap has been added up. Yep, that's all. Mail is once again accumilating in my mailbox. *Sigh*

Commentary: Yeah, I got the cold. Last days of winter. I blame my little sister. She was sick first. -_- So much for working on my art galleries. I tried. I know it was a meager update. I'll try to get my mailbox emptied tomorrow. Smallest update in a while.

Updates: Welcome to a new month. Welcome! Finally you can now see what I had in store for everyone. It was actually what the poll was all about. The 'Yes's have it. MCLoZ will now have Anime and Manga Reviews made by me on a monthly basis. It's to keep me... amused, really.

The other half of the poll that I didn't mention. Had the 'No's won, I would have put my heart and soul into the rebuilding of the forums. However, since that will not be the case, I have closed the MCLoZ Forums. It pains me since this will be the first time since 2002 that MCLoZ has not had forums or at least had them scheduled on the list. I just don't like forums and mine weren't doing all that great. Maybe someday again down the road when there's a better demand and I can guarentee my time I will put them back up. There's two links on the Forums Closed page where you can find me. The only two forums I ever visit.

Commentary: I think I have made quite a lot of people either happy or rather angry now. ^_^; I'm going to walk away before someone throws something at me. Would you believe, though, after all that, the one thing I missed was needing a new poll. I'll put one up... later. <_< >_> Some things are scheduled for today so don't expect many updates. -_- My poor art and screenshot galleries. Oh well. That's life.
