Today's Updates: The Oracle of Seasons section is complete and I have officially reached my half way mark. XD Things should be a little smoother sailing with the other sections, and then I'll finally be able to start filling in those other missing spaces that were put up with the new design that were not incorporated in the previous.
After I made this morning's post, I decided to go grab me some breakfast. ^_^; I like to mix my favorite foods, once in a while and I can be very adventurous about it. When I was young, when we had hot dogs and mac&cheese, I would take chili and mix it in with my mac and them add ketchup. Seems now adays chilli-mac is quite popular (darn myself for not copyrighting it or something) but I still use something they don't - ketchup! :P To the world!
Anywho, this morning I decided I wanted some instant oatmeal (Maple & Brown Sugar). Once I had that made, I reached into the fridge to get me some milk and o_o there's ham in there that wasn't there yesterday! My parents had gone shopping this morning. ^_^; I'm a sucker for a fresh chunk of ham, and my parents had even already sliced up some.
So, what do I do? I take a few slices and decide to eat them with my instant oatmeal. Meh... it didn't taste EXCEPTIONALLY good together, so I ended up just finishing the ham and eating the oatmeal seperately (and sunk into the fridge again later for another slice of hame <3). Unfortunately... my stomache had some VERY big disagreements on my breakfast choices. *sigh* -_-; So, that was around 11 this morning and I haven't eaten anything since! That's how mad my stomache is at me.
Meh, you ever feel that your weekend is just doomed? I hope that for the rest of the night and tomorrow, I can make some better choices.
Today's Updates: Oracle of Ages section is now complete!
Tch, I was SO determined last night to get the Oracle of Ages section complete. I had everything done and was loading things into the database. While it did that, I was even chatting with someone once in a while. It was not even 12am in the morning.
And then it happened.
I fell asleep at my laptop. When I next woke up it was 4am in the morning. Drat myself!
*Sigh* See, even now, I'm laying on my stomache, my chin nestled comfortably on my pillow, just tapping out this update. I don't get a very good signal in my room, though so it's a little slow going from time to time. Which means, it makes for the perfect conditions to fall asleep. *sigh*
It's not the first time I've done things like this. The first time with my laptop, yes, but in the past, I would have my clipboard and be lieing in the same way as I write out my stories. ^_^ And then... I would doze off.
I'm very VERY bad for it. Actually, I broke my last pair of glasses like that and after that, swore that I would be much more careful! So, this is actually the first time in a long time that I did that. XD
I dunno, it make for a very humorous story. - Yes, I was still wearing my glasses, too. Even my music from my favorite J-Pop band Two-Mix was still playing on my Winamp list. ^_^;; I'm so bad. I really need to teach myself that if I'm that tired, this is NOT a good position to lie in - no matter HOW comfortable.
Today's Updates: As promised earlier before I rushed off to work, the Majora's Mask section is now completely up in the new design.
*Phew* Moving right along now, aren't I? Except, might start getting harder again since it's the pages with images that slow me down, and the Oracle series games have a lot of images in them. Those are the TRUE half way point. Once I make it through them, the rest should be quite a bit easier. (Should be).
Again, I thank Zelda Dungeon for their kind mention in their video update. And I'll be sure to update again really soon, guys!
Today's Updates: Majora's Mask section in the new design scheduled for release later tonight.
I mostly wanted to quickly thank Zelda Dungeon for their kind mention in his video update. ^_^ Thanks so much. You actually made my day.
Anyways, I'll be online tonight when I get home from work so you guys can IM me but keep in mind I will be hard at work on the MM section. I've also been checking out the local forum scene at Zelda Legacy. ~_^ Might see me there, too!
Today's Updates: The 24 Golden Bug Locations have been added up for the Twilight Princess game section. You will also notice that I finally go around to writing up a game summary for that section.
XD It felt so good getting to write a game page after so long! Nothing like firing up the game, searching these things and recording directions and having to write them out on the site.
I hope you like my directions. From personal experience I've had to note that the directions given in most other guides are EXTREMELY horrible, so I hope I did a better job.
HOWEVER! Because MagicFox has the Gamecube version of the game, guess what - the guide is written for the Gamecube version! Which means, Wii players will have to fight to understand that right = left, left = write, west = east and east = west. Meh, you'll get over it. ^_^ I think the Wii version has received too many guides and needs something written towards the Gamecube. Hehehe, GCN players - this is your break!
Next - Majora's Mask section will be worked on and I'll start work on writing up another guide for the TP section.
Today's Updates: The OoT section has been completely moved to the new design. Later today, or possibly tomorrow, the Bug Locations for TP will be up and added to the site!
Wait, I thought I wasn't going to update any at all this week because of a fairly important book project. Well... it got pushed back. Good for you... sorta... except that next week, there will be no updates. o_O And even worse, I already had an essay due for that class. ...... I... I'M GOING TO DIE!! x_x God... please... help me. Why do these things always happen to me? *Sigh* Meh, oh well. It gives me more time to read the last two chapters of the book.
It's really not a "book report" that we're doing. The book we've been instructed to read is Fast Food Nation for my journalism class. Yes, while we are entitled to our own opinions about the topic the actual report is on the guy's writing style and journalistic abilities, and it's sorta a look inside for us on what it means to cover a whole "beat". It's interesting when I look at it from that point of view, otherwise, the book would totally bore me. However, the guy still doesn't get many props from me journalistically. LOL. I think he was extremely bias and even though he admits it in the book, he doesn't really do anything to try to show us the other side of the topic. Meh... x_x How long was my report suppose to be? Bleh! I hate college! Just imagine what I'll have to face if I go to a uni. Ick!
Today's Updates: Updated Later: N/M I went ahead and got the files back up. *Sigh* I MADE SURE TO LOG OUT THIS TIME! ..... Now to go and enjoy myself before I have to sit down and get to work on my english essay.
I was going to announce that the old image gallery files were moved from my name to a new fan art section named "Old Gallery". However, in my rush to try to upload some files into my now-free account, I did not realize that I was still under the Old Gallery account and accidentally managed to delete ALL of those old files.
>_< You have NO idea how POed I am! The good news is that I still have the files and the information to get it all back up, but that was two hours worth of work that was deleted in a single instant of folly. And then, as if to rub salt in an open wound, this is my second type of this message because - I DELETED THE FIRST ONE, TOO!! I GIVE UP! The old files will be back up tomorrow! I'll get around to it! ..... *sniffle* I don't believe I did that. x_x
Today's Updates: As stated by the title, I have updated the Meet the Staff page with Frankie's information. ^_^ I look forward to working with him. As you can see, he will mostly be in charge of collecting images from The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time, and Minish Cap games, but I'm sure I'll have a few other odd projects for him to do.
Hooray for new staff member! I love staff members! They make my job a lot easier. *Phew*
However, with this joyous and happy news, I have some not-so-joyous-and-happy news. -_- There will be no updates to MCLoZ either this week or next. I have an english essay due this Friday, and next week a fairly big and extensive book review for my journalism class.
... And life continues to suck. PLEASE FORGIVE ME! But when I come back XD it will be with TP content! How does the full bug collection sound to you guys?
Today's Updates: MCLoZ now has a new staff member. Frankie (myself) is the new Image Collector for MCLoZ. What my job consists of is... you guessed it, collecting images! The images are going to be used for different things around the site, such as the Minish Cap heart piece guide. I hope I stick around for awhile, because I'm already enjoying this.
A little about myself: I am pretty young, at 14 years old. Zelda is my favorite video game series of all time. I am embarrassed to admit this, but my first Zelda game was the Collector's Edition. However, I think I've made up for my very late arrival into Hyrule. I own every Zelda game except Four Swords, Four Swords Adventures, Oracle of Seasons, and the CD-i games. I know more about Zelda than most so-called Zelda fans. But, I still haven't beaten Adventure of Link. But, how many of you have? Not many, I bet.
Today's Updates: Updates will start back this weekend with Twilight Princess content (Bug Locations). Hope you look forward to it. *Sigh* Though, I have an essay due Monday so *pout*.
I do this every once in a while, and I feel that right now is the perfect opportunity to. Many new visitors are finding their way to my site and I feel the need to introduce myself properly as well as MCLoZ.
I am Maxine MagicFox, 22 year old, currently going to community college, majoring in journalism! My hope is to become a staff member (either in design or article writing, or BOTH!) for Nintendo Power or some other kewl gaming magazine. However, my main passion is novel writing so if I sale a book and think I can make a living, I'll probably drop it all and follow that.
I started MCLoZ when I was 14 years old. That's right! Do the math! MCLoZ is SEVEN years old. We opened August 21, 1999. The goal of my site is quite simple - STRATEGY GUIDES! If you want the location of those secret chests, or are maybe missing a bottle, or wonder where is the best place to purchase arrows, this is your new home. Many of the sections are also being vamped up with in-game images, too.
I'm sure the first thing you've noticed when you entered was the lack of TP design. Actually, things are quite cartoonish. ^_^ I'm a fan of kiddish things (I write for children). The cuter, the better! A Link to the Past and The Wind Waker are my favorite games! However, The Minish Cap artwork is among my favorite. The 3D games, albeit nice and TOTALLY enjoyable, didn't have the "ultimate element" for me. Saddly, too, it seems Zelda itself is missing the ultimate element for me lately, and I have since become a die-hard Kingdom Hearts fan, so expect quite a few tangents down that way. I will not hesitate to post up a little KH news! Sora is just soooo CUTE! And I love the Disney characters!!
So, that's the general scoop of the website and myself. I really hope you enjoy the website and while there are quite a few missing pages, please be patient and expect them at any time. I am working very hard at getting all content up into my new design. Also: I LOVE chatting. I realize I haven't been on in a long time, but trillian has been logged on the last few nights. So ^_^ FEEL FREE TO INSTANT MESSAGE ME! Or e-mail me! Or, even better, chat on my forums!
I look forward to chatting with you! Nope, I'm not a holier-than-thou type of webmaster who hides away from his fans. I'm an egotistic and a theatric and I started a website to brag and meet new people. Nope, I have no secret or hidden IM name that only my close friends are privied to. Except, please do NOT IM me about affiliation. Fill out the form. That's all I will say on that topic. <_< >_> Kingdom Hearts fans are encouraged to IM me IMMEDIATELY. ^_^
Today's Updates: And once again on our list, after a return interest to his site, we find Zelda Domain. Nate has always been a very close friend of mine for at least the last four or so years and he always tries hard on his site, whether it succeeds or not in the end. ^_^ But, no, honestly, his site is looking great!
More importantly, though, I would like to introduce to our list the website Zelda Rebirth. This is a VERY new site - slightly over one week old. However, they have a sleek design and the little content they do have, is in quality format. Really, the same sort of quality you would expect to find on my site.
In the past, I have had a requirement of a site being at least six months old. By this time (usually), the webmaster knows what is to be expected of him. And by this time, it's obvious if he is just posting random Zelda news and calling it updates, or if he is posting actual content.
However, I took the requirement down this time mostly because I did want to try to help new sites, but also because I realized that most underage sites rarely hit the rest of my requirements anyway, and if they do, then don't they deserve to be affiliated with? Well, this is a prime example of that and I hope I'm not wrong. I'm looking forward to seeing the future of Zelda Rebirth and am anxious to see how far its webmaster will go.
On a small sidenote, for all those interested in knowing, I have extended my affiliation list to include thirty sites. This will also be beneficial to me since I'm trying to draw the crowds back in as well XD. I have gotten quite a few e-mails saying "When did you return?! *gasp*"
...... BTW, am I just out of the times or something. What is with this sudden upsurge in video updates? Zelda Domain and Zelda Dungeon have them. Rebirth is also producing a movie for a walkthrough. >_> I don't even know how to make videos. I feel... outdated suddenly. XD
Today's Updates: Please welcome new sites to our affiliation list: LoZ.com, Zelda Dungeon, and Zelda Legacy. All three sites are absolutely breathtaking, and the webmasters are people would I would like to consider good buddies of mine. Except for Zelda Legacy (this is his first time on my list) LoZ.com and Zelda Dungeon were both previous affiliates at one time or another. ^_^ It's great to see them back up on my list!
And now in more news: I only have one more page to complete before I am done with the Ocarina of Time section. Except that update sometime tonight. >:] Now that I'm out of the LttP section, I really seem to be moving along. -_- Of course, that's because so far the sections have been really poor in quality and without images. *Sigh* I'm seriously going to pour a lot of energy into them once I am done with redesigning and Twilight Princess.
This weekend, I think I'm actually going to try to get a page written for the TP section. I miss actually typing up a raw page. I haven't done that in a loooooooong time. XD
Today's Updates: The section of Link's Awakening is now complete!
Sort of anyway. Unfortunately, both the Ocarina of Time and Link's Awakening sections are the oldest sections of the site. But compared to the OoT section, it's the most underworked. Haha... ^_^;; It needs serious reconstruction. I didn't realize how bad it was until I sat there re-coding things. o_o It's horrible! *Sigh* -_- Twilight Princess and LA are my two top sections to work on. @_@ And my work load grows.
On an even rougher note, college starts again tomorrow. Tch. Back to the old grinding stone. And from the way I hear it, things are going to get REALLY rough. Updates might be VERY slow. My apologies.
Today's Updates: All articles in the A Link to the Past / Four Swords section are now complete. WITH ONE MINOR EXCEPTION (ok, three). The walkthroughs are not up nor is the Monster Strategy guide. It's really the Monster Guide that keeps them from going up and the FS Palace has... gone missing. I thought I had one. So, no idea. I really just want to redesign some of the aspects in the walkthrough and the monster guide and I don't want to worry about it right now. I have bigger things to do.
How you do you like the cute little LttP avvy that I made? All sections are going to get one from now on and when I update a section its avvy is going to go up. No, the other avvies aren't going anywhere, but I thought that this looked a little better and will make things slightly more convenient for readers.
*Sigh* And I know... it's Saturday. You'll get the Zelda Secrets and Oddities today, don't worry! However, I have been working on trying to get this section complete all morning and I'm going to take a break :P. I'm exhausted! And my eyes hurt from staring at my computer screen for so long.
BTW, I already have 68 mp3s from two wonderful MCLoZ fans, Alex and Golden Hero. They are all right now either up in Golden's personal Fan-Art gallery or in the Image Contributions section if you want to go ahead and play them since the page isn't going to be put up for quite a while.
Remember: If you have any, feel free to post them on the gallery (no registration required, just go up to "Upload" under the @Menu and follow the instructions). Or you can e-mail them!
**Important** Just one tiny note about the mp3s. DO NOT send me Twilight Princess songs! I will not display them up on the page. The soundtracks are still being sold and are easy to get and find. Just old soundtracks, please! ... However I can't control what you guys do in your own personal galleries... <_< >_> I didn't say that!!
Thanks so much! And don't forget my staffing requests!!
Now after all that news dump, I think it might be prudent to re-post my previous requests just to keep them fresh in people's minds. This weekend I will post up the Zelda Oddities I have floating around in my mailbox and I'm hard at work trying to get the content pages into the new design. It's very slow going, actually.
Mp3 Request First on the list, I am interested in putting up a page full of Zelda mp3 tracks. Anything, from soundtracks to just basic tunes. If anyone has any stowed away on their computer, please pack them in either a .zip file or a .rar is fine, too, and e-mail them to me at webmaster@mcloz.net. You will be given a lovely little mention on the page when you do, too. (Or, you can post them in our Image Contributions section of the gallery. No registration required!)
Staff Position: Image Gallery Moderator I am looking for anyone with coppermine experience who would be interested and willing to take on the Image Gallery. Duties expected will not only be to moderate them for inappropriate comments or images, but to also update our gallery with the newest screenshots and official art released.
Staff Position: Strategy Writer Have a fair knowledge of most or all of the games? Interested in aiding MCLoZ in its quest for the most strategies? Now's your chance. No HTML knowledge required. All you need to be is a good writer who will give plenty of information on things like where to find all the grottos in a particular game, where to find fairy fountains, or where to find that elusive treasure everyone's been looking for. I would like to have three people at least to fill in this position.
Staff Position: Image Collector Not afraid to use ROMs and Emulators (which I will supply)? How would you like to be an image gatherer for MCLoZ? I give you a list of the things for which you must collect images, and you hack into the game, using even cheats or whatever means necessary, to get the image of what I desire in any particular Zelda game. ****I would like to have someone who can get me images for the N64 games, the Gamecube, and the Wii, and even the Zelda DS!****
If you are interested in any of these staffing positions, please feel free to e-mail me for more details or to apply. Thank you!
It seems Archaic Sage over at Rauru's Return is more with it and the rest of us are. I never saw a press release that stated the new release date for Phandom Hourglass, but he did! Good job, Archaic!
New release date, instead of October, the game has been pushed back to Holidays 2007. .... That's so ambiguous it's pathetic. *Sigh* I'll update the images later. (Updated)
On a smaller note, I noticed that the GDC news expanded past my "top 6" News page. So, I increased the amount of news shown to 10 and will increase it more if I see the need since I want all of this new information on that page. ^_^ When I programmed the darn script for coranto to do what I wanted, this small problem never crossed my mind. I'm glad, though, that I did make it easy to fix even if it was unintentional.
Without further adou, Aonuma's GDC speech has been posted over at Gamespot (1Up really let me down on this one).
In it Aonuma talks about the near death that TWW almost brought to the series. And how big of a success TP now is, and why. There's suppose to be a bit more of the speech, but so far, all The Hylia and 1Up has are note/text dumps. You can visit the sites to find them for yourselves. Meh. LOL. Hopefully one or the other later will have a full fledged article of some sort with more dignity.
There is also a streaming video of Shigeru Miyamoto's speech over here posted up by Nintendo.
BTW, if this means the death of any chance of another cartoonish Zelda game with only rediculous realism on the horizon, I think I will close the doors to MCLoZ once and for all and put up a shrine to my Kingdom Hearts because apparently the creators and I are going in two different directions. I'm rather annoyed that they would just view Wind Waker as any sort of failure much less a "near-death to the series." Stop with the over-dramamization. What's killing the series are other issues, like their fortitude and strength in following through with something even against the masses once in a while. Continuing to do something controversial brings its own fortune. /Small rant
A new video for Phantom Hourglass has been released. The multiplayer video wasn't enough for you? Don't worry, this one is on the regular game adventure. (.... <3 It is WAY too cute when Link goes swirly eyed.)
Because the site shows it way too small, I'm going to embed it in the updates for you all to view at a decent size. Hope you enjoy!
First, the all important! Shigeru Miyamoto's GDC Keynot Speech! I haven't had a chance to read it, yet, but the page that I linked you to was updated every five minutes apparently throughout the whole conference. Very interesting! I CAN'T WAIT!!
Second and definitely not any less important than the words of the human-god Miyamoto, we have an interview with Koji Kondo, the man responsible for our beloved Zelda music tracks! From what I hear, this interview is also deleicious, but, again, having just got home from work, I haven't had a chance to dive in.
I don't know how I missed this piece of news before and I've certainly seen no other site mention it, but -meh-. I will! On February 27, Ocarina of Time was made available on the Wii Virtual Console for 1000 points.
I found this while surfing around on Nintendo's website trying to find if there was any other GDC information released.
Today's Updates: Ten New Screenshots have been added to the gallery under the album GDC 2007!
Quite a few of them also feature the new multiplayer game that will be included along with Phantom Hourglass.
... I wish I had a DS. I want to be excited, too! Oh, and word has it that some time today the official due date will be announced.
BTW: I forgot that this week was GDC, hence my non-coverage of it up to now. ^_^; Sorry!
Expect more possibly sometime after 12 today when Miyamoto's keynote speech is scheduled to end. Haha, I can't WAIT to read it! -_- I have work at 3 though, so I hope it makes it out before then.
Over at Game Videos there is a video of one of the games in the multiplayer version that will be included on Phantom Hourglass.
Apparently it resembles something like a Capture the Flag deal. When you are Link, you work on getting your own Force Gems into your own base. However, there are three knights controlled by the other player that you must avoide. If you die, you take charge of your own three knights and try to put a stop to the other side.
There is also this screenshot of the display for the game featured over at The Hylia.
So, it seems that all the rage right now is about a two month old interview with Aonuma in a popular magazine that someone FINALLY got around to translating.
To sum it up, it pretty much states that the timeline for The Wind Waker (and Phantom Hourglass) and Twilight Princess is split.
At the end of Ocarina of Time, in the future with the sages, The Wind Waker takes off a hundred years later.
The Twilight Princess, however, takes off from the child Link who returned to the past.
More information, and a link to the translated article, can be found at Zelda Universe.
Mild Comments: I think this is interesting. I don't believe in a "universal" timeline that includes any games outside of OoT, MM, TWW, and TP (not all 12 games are connected. I don't go for that!), however, this timeline information is mildly informative. But it still does not interest me to even read a SINGLE article about the subject proposing ideas.
Extra comment: Most of the *gasp* factor actually seems to be giong towards the idea that there IS a split timeline. Ok, for those new to the series, I can perfectly understand. However, in an article released shortly before (or maybe shortly after) MM, Miyamoto himself stated that there were now split timelines. I thought we were all just sitting around waiting to see which ones went to which epoch.
.... You have no idea how much energy it took me into actually presenting this information. I'm just NOT a timeline fanatic.
Today's Updates: Link's Infinite List of Torture now has Items 283-322 contributed by GaaraoftheDesertWaterfall, Penguin dude, HenrikHJ, Kasper, Dark Hawk, Stephanie, Garin, The Dark Hunter, Bboy94, kathrynevancelovesdarriuswadowitz, Gamer97, Bluemail, and daniel!
*Phew* I know I said I was going to put some up last night, but I sat down to it and thought that I just wanted to do them and put them all up at once instead of a few at a time. It's just easier and faster that way. LOL.
I also know that I said I was going to rant about my computer, but I just don't feel like ranting right now LOL. So, I'm going to just layout my plans for the Twiligh Princess section and what I right now have planned to create and put up.
So, here's the pages that I'm planning on doing once my layout is complete:
- Attempt to find a walkthrough
- Items List (This is a given, isn't it?)
- Fishing Guide *Lists the types of fish that can be caught and where and the description to the lures, how to get the sinking lure, the frog lure, and how to catch the Hylian Loach. Hahaha, this is probably going to be the last page added since it's going to be the biggest and I'm working carefully on it in my own game. I still have of yet to catch the Loach while lure fishing. I caught one bobbing, though, but it was a smallish thing. LOL*
- Bug Collection List
- Heart Pieces (... whenever I find them all myself. I'M WORKING ON IT! :P)
- Guide to the Mini-Games
- Upgrades
- Boss Strategies
- Poe Locations (Another work in progress in my game *sigh*)
Now, there's one other thing I've been wanting to do the last two years for MCLoZ and might be able to since my parents recently (and finally) purchased a scanner. Manuals! I'm going to attempt to scan all the manuals for every Zelda game that I own.
I've also got to complete the pages that were not included in the previous design and that I've added up now as one of those blank links.
..... T-T I've got my work cut out for me. ... *Sigh*
Today's Updates: First Update scheduled for late tomorrow! Haha, since it's Friday night, I'm just going to focus on getting through school first, and then I'll stay up really late doing the fan submittions and things. I will be doing Torture Items first since I have more of them and some of them are backlogged as far as Jan 15th. -_- Sorry about that...
Haha, my rant about my computer is still impending and will probably be placed up along with Friday's update.
However, I have to shamelessly plug the new Kingdom Hearts trailer being showcased on Youtube. I SO want this game, and if they don't license it and translate it and bring it over (and I don't see why they wouldn't, but...) I will DEFINITELY be importing it. ... If only I knew Japanese. I'm sure I can find a game transcript somewhere. Hahaha.
*Glare* What, you don't like my KH mention? TOUGH! XD I'm as in love with it as Zelda, so as I've said before, put up with it. *Sigh* I've even heard them say that there's going to be a new minigame in Chain of Memories in Pooh's world. <3 ((BTW, KH2-extras aside, all I want is to play a 3D of CoM, which I really did love. That's the only real reason I'm interested.))
Hrrrm, this trailer also provided me with the first chance I've ever been able to hear Sora's J-voice outside of the openings (which he sounded really deep in). XD Sora sounds so cute in Japanese, too!! Riku and Namine, too.
