From Advents to Affiliates... which I still need two more...
November 25, 2005, 6:35 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Announcing the start of the Christmas 2005 Advent Calendar on December 1st. Enjoy counting down the days until Christmas as I post up Twilight Princess info every day of the event and you uncover a little more of the picture hidden beneath. I can't offer you candies or presents, but I can offer just a little bit of fun and perhaps a recap on some of the things we have learned this past year for Zelda.

In other news: I have FINALLY updated the affiliates and included the three new sites that I have obtained. Remember: I'm still looking for two more (if I weren't so busy *sigh*).

Hylian Help Desk - A wonderful site that works hard, and is at the moment trying to recover from a hacker (sorry to hear that). The only fault that I see with this site is it's current not viewable in Internet Explorer. Maybe in days to come, I can help out a little in that area.

Hylian Worlds - Still a very new site, learning the ropes, and doing the best he can. After talking with this webmaster I swear, it felt like I was talking with myself four years ago. I have a lot of hopes for this wonderful site.

Zelda Zutto - One of the few Zelda sites whose webmaster is a girl, and her design slightly reflects that, though I absolutely love those colors. Not only will you find Zelda information on her site, but you will also get a little dose of Fire Emblem and and Golden Sun. A wonderful site, indeed, that definitely needs more publicity.

Commentary: ::Runs around wildly everywhere:: December 1st >_< It starts December 1st and to be totally honest, I'm not even near done, yet. @_@ Oh dear God, help me! Anyways, though, with this Advent Calendar, I am breaking a solid five year tradition by decorating for Christmas. In the past you may have noticed that holidays are a sort of candid affair on MCLoZ. They are there, I mention them, but even for Christmas, I never have anything prepared. This year, however, I was determined to break that long standing tradition.

It took a while to figure out what to do, though. As many may have read in my blog, I had no idea until just a few short weeks ago when I mentioned it was my mom and one of our family's traditions that inspired me. She had bought this year's Advent Calendar. Now, while I can't promise you any chocolates or anything, I think a little fun with the upcoming Twilight Princess game certainly couldn't hurt, even if the game was pushed back from release. I hope you guys enjoy. It isn't much, but it's the best I can come up with on such a tight budget (wait... I have a budget?).

Happy Thanksgiving from the MCLoZ Staff
November 24, 2005, 9:13 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: On behalf of all the MCLoZ staff, I would like to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving this year! ^_^ Enjoy this wonderful time with all your friends and family. And remember: don't eat too much! You don't REALLY need that fourth helping of stuffing... ok, maybe you do... but... that fifth plate could be reconsidered... a little...

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: And expect some minor updates tomorrow... >_< I hope tomorrow! If I can get the finishing touches completed. Uhh... the affiliates will also be added tomorrow. *Sigh* I thought I had added them, but I editted the wrong document.

My patience only goes so far - and this is too far.
November 21, 2005, 6:48 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: I've had it with the Image Gallery situation. It's done, I'm tired, my patience snapped this evening when I spent an hour cleaning up some of the rude and disgusting comments being left behind on the gallery. No longer doing it. It ends now... or at least until I see how good this next move proves to be.

I have turned off Anonymous User Comments. You must now REGISTER and LOG IN to post comments for the Image Gallery. And now I WILL ban people if they continue to annoy me. It's such a sad thing that one or two individuals have to ruin the fun for everyone.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: I don't mind it if you post comments saying "w00t! Zelda looks awesome" or have total conversations about how hot Link is in Twilight Princess. I welcome those conversations. But to post degrading comments towards other users in such areas as the Fan Art Gallery - absolutely NOT tolerated. Nor is "f****** Zelda sux." Enough is enough. Let's try it this new way and see how better things will become.

Tch, an hour cleaning up comments when I was looking forward to working on our December/Christmas event. No, I'm really not happy. After coming home from work this is really something I don't want to see.

Twilight Princess news released - old and new
November 16, 2005, 9:27 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: An article was posted up on Chinese website, Level Up, that revealed some new insight into Twilight Princess, but most reconfirmed things already known. A translation of the article as follows, quoted from Zelda Legends.

- Zelda TP is a huge A.AVG scheduled for release on the GC. It uses the highest development costs and largest development team.

- Aonuma is the director. Miyamoto is the producer. Motion capture is used for Link and the animals.

- The game's contents exceed those of "WW", "OoT", and previous titles.

- If you play the main quest and all of the other sidequests, secrets, etc., Zelda TP will easily surpass 100 hours of gameplay.

- The massive array of new features and creativity elements in this game will set the benchmark for the "Zelda" of next-gen. We hope GC gamers from all around the world will enjoy this title.

Also revealed on the site were a few screenshots that I have never seen before, so I'm going to claim they are new (do correct me if I'm wrong). At any rate, they will be added up to the gallery very soon! In addition to this update, I will also be announcing the new affiliates (remember I'm still looking for two more) tomorrow. You may also have noticed that I updated the introductory picture above. Max is always improving her graphic skills... though that one was long overdue for me to learn, right? LOL!

Update: Nine new screenshots added to the TP Normal Screenshots gallery!!

Commentary: A note, not belittling ANY site, but this article was posted on both Zelda Legends and Zelda Universe, though Zelda Legends gave more depth into the article. The curious thing, though, is that Zelda Universe claimed the site was Japanese. I'm no Japanese expert but... the characters don't really look Japanese to me and when I went to the site it asked if I wanted to download and install Chinese text characters to be viewed (I already have Japanese support on my computer... you kidding? I might not be able to read it but it's still nice to view the official sites for anime), and when I ran it through my web translator while it did translate the characters into both Chinese and Japanese, Chinese came out the closest. Is Zelda Universe slipping THAT baddly? Yes, I'm not exactly welcomed there and there are things I still don't like but I've always considered them a worthy rival... I think I'm almost missing Lars.

Well, it's about time! An LttP treat!
November 15, 2005, 9:54 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Old staff member, Skullrama, has been talking about a strange map he received with this LttP game for a very long time now. It hasn't been until recently, however, that he finally got around to scanning it. And I can only say it was worth the wait.

You can view both sides of the map in our gallery:
Page 1 and Page 2

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: Meh... so updates are slow... Work's hard as well, plus juggling time to play video games and write on my novel. Eheh... my blog has gotten a lot of use lately. Anyways, I do have new affiliates to post up which should be my next update. I will also mention that I have two slots still open for the affiliation. *Sigh* Back to searching again....

The LttP Sprites Gallery complete!
November 6, 2005, 6:20 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Finally I decided to just go ahead and tackle the LttP Sprites Gallery. Next, I'll do the LoZ sprites gallery, which isn't as extensive. I'm also doing a LoZ section update, so expect that in the near future (I know, finally, right?).

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: XD I got Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance yesterday! Kyaaaaa!! IT'S SO SWEEEEEEET!! Now, I'm only a recent fan of the Fire Emblem series, since I only purchased Sacred Stones not too long ago. I still haven't beaten that but I'm near the end. I ADORE the game. What's taken me so long? Fighting with my sister for it, working, and the general lapse in game play when you get angry and want to toss it across the room. PoR is stunning so far and while it plays the same it's got a few differences that Sacred Stone didn't have. But meh, I'm not that far into the game quite yet, either. ^_^ I'm loving it, though. Trying to not let it get in the way of what little updates I do on MCLoZ, though.

Brief correction for an anime review.
November 2, 2005, 11:53 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: I made a tiny correction to the Saikano Manga Review. Just a brief correction only in the first paragraph where I translate the title for the manga. Read commentary for more info.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: As I said, I don't read/know Japanese so I looked briefly on the web for the translation to Saikano. It wasn't until I just finished watching the first episode of the anime itself that I realized I had made a major error. The full title of the anime appeared and it WASN'T "Saikano". Which I'm kinda glad because it had always felt to me that there was something wrong with the info. The full title is Saishu-Heiki Kanojo. Once in a while anime or manga titles will come around that are long and will have official abbreviations. Fruits Basket is like that, too. Furutsu Basuketo, as is the romanji, is a mouthful: so the author/fans officially abbreviated it into Furuba (which you've probably heard me call it by once in a while)! Saikano seems to have done the same thing, but since I'm new to the series, I'm not all that savvy about it just yet and I didn't catch it.

Murdered by Halloween... I hate holidays.
November 1, 2005, 6:47 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Anime and Manga Reviews have been posted for this month, including the promised Special Edition. This month's review is on the manga Saikano. And the Special Edition is my personal favorite Fruits Basket anime!! (Come on, you didn't really think I would pass up a chance to review that one? Did you?)

Later on today I'll move the monthly archives and all that jazz.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: It was MURDER at work. So, by the time I got home, go a shower and helped my sister get ready to go collect candy... I was really out of stamina. I went to bed early and crashed but... I had a little trouble getting up this morning (a little? I'm still half asleep at my keyboard). Well... anyways... at least I got the reviews done in time.
