And we look to the future...
October 30, 2005, 8:31 PM EST by StarTears
Updates: OTD 4 is mainly about the future of Nintendo and ZeldaRevo, as it's been lovingly dubbed. Now, it may seem foolish to look that far ahead when Twilight Princess hasn't even come out yet, but I decided to anyways. Check it out here.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: So... make sure to check it out. And definitely leave feedback in the forums!

Affiliation will take longer than planned.
October 29, 2005, 9:50 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Link's Infinite List of Torture *Items 246 - 251 Added.

Affiliation will take a little longer than I had hoped, due to a random string of pure boredom with MCLoZ. (No, don't worry, it will go away with time. Hopefully by tomorrow.) Meh, I just couldn't pull myself around to even looking at requests the last week or so. Meh...

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: I can't wait until this is over so I can get back to adding up actual content. My LoZ section is calling out to me. But the random boredom thing... between finishing up a really good book (Redemption of Althalus by my favorite authors David and Leigh Eddings), replaying Kingdom Hearts and Pokemon (with my sister), and going to work. Meh... I haven't even had time to write :\ and that's disturbing. *Phew* I'm coming home from work more and more wiped out day by day.

One time solicitation: While it's no big thing (AT ALL) some of my more dedicated fans probably would like to know that I did open a blog site recently. Full of daily blogs / whinings (daily? ... loose term) and my writings. Enjoy: http://blog.mcloz.net

It's all about the affiliates! Five more slots left!
October 25, 2005, 2:24 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Sorry, I meant to post this the day before yesterday but several events happened that prevented me in doing so. Check out Commentary for more information.

Many of you have already noticed that I have updated my affiliates list. Relax and fear not! I am not done! There are now only five slots left! Remember, if you are still interested in affiliation, be sure to submit a form. Or, even if you just have a site you would like to recommend, go ahead and fill out the form anyway! ^_^

Rauru's Return - This site has been opened for a while and the webmaster is a frequenter of our forums, even. What the site may lack in organization, it makes up for in the content and the time and effort put into the site.

Rinku no Densetsu - Owned by our old staff member NekoOtaku! He's very new to this business, and his site has a few layout problems and still lacks a little content, and has a few... things to learn, yet, but I'm rather looking forward to seeing how far he'll go. He's already got a good step in the right direction.

The Written Legend - Good layout and organization it has not. Good content and a different "take" on a Zelda website, it does have. For a new webmaster, he's ready to work and throw in the effort, as well as take the criticism. He is DEFINITELY an awesome writer, though, and I give his Zelda Articles many props. Looking forward to the future, Akira!!

The Zelda Chronicles - And this one, I searched on my own. After discovering it, I was so impressed with the layout that I almost turned it down for a moment thinking it had to have a decent fanbase already. And, it does. A small one, so it's got some work ahead of it. ^_^ But, it's definitely on the road to success. Good luck!!

Five site slots left... two I think I've decided upon already, so I'm really looking for three more, unless two others come along that manage to blow those two out of the water. Come on webmasters! Send me your sites! Remember, I'm looking ONLY FOR SMALL sites with SMALL fanbases. Rejoice! Who cares if your layout sucks. I'm willing to look beyond that and hopefully give you some help and tips in the future.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: So, first... lack of updates.... that can be blamed on a surprise visit from grandparents. And then overly long 2 in the morning IM conversations with Hanyou-ni. Yes, I am going to blame it on you, little brother. :P And then... -_- Sunday, when everyone noticed that I had updated without an announcement... I had updated in the morning intending to post the news update in the afternoon after work. *Sigh* Saddly, a serious asthma attack swiped that away. ::Pouts:: It's no fun when you can't breath and all I wanted to do was lay on my bed in the one position I could manage to pull breath in. So... here's hoping for better days now that my grandparents have LEFT. >_>

Prepare to be AMAZED....
October 20, 2005, 6:32 PM EST by Dethl'sShadow
Updates: ...The pictures for the Item list are DONE. That's right, they are all DONE. All of them. Oh, and there are now pics for the Wind Crests too.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: ...That was hard. Picture-taking sucks. A lot.

In other news, I'm totally broke right now.

Broken links, bad images, inactive e-mails...
October 10, 2005, 9:42 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: A tiny update. The 203 main LttP sprites have been added to the image gallery. I simply have to just load up the contributed images and then I can start on the LoZ gallery, which is much smaller.

Next, a message out to those interested in affiliation. I now have four sites that have accepted affiliation. Five slots left. I won't release them just yet since I want to see how many I can get in before I have to... and how many really DO add me up ::glares::. So, if you have a site, please be sure to fill out the form, or even if you know a site that you would like to recommend, please send me an e-mail! I'd like to see them! Time's running out ^_^. I really would like to be done by the end of the month, though I will hold out decisions based on various reasons.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: Since I started this, I've had to deal with broken links to websites that have filled out the forms, dealt with bad images and templates on the sites o_O (dear God, I never knew you could come up with so many color combinations that could blind your eyes), and a more annoying problem: broken e-mail addresses. IF I HAVE NOT CONTACTED YOU WITHIN ONE DAY CONCERING YOUR AFFILIATION, PLEASE E-MAIL ME BACK WITH YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS!! Typoes happen on the forms, and I know one site that I'm VERY interested in did this to me. -_- Now how can I tell this site that I might very well decide to affiliate with them if I can't even e-mail them. ::Shrugs::

Angel Sanctuary vol. 10 released today!
October 10, 2005, 6:50 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: And for today's updates, MagicFox has emptied her mailbox! Hopefully to never let it become overflown again. Wasn't so bad this time, though.

Link's Infinite List of Torture: *Items 240-245 were added by Franklin, Steiner Bucket, the_one_link, Pikkle, and SpazedCucco.

Zelda Secrets and Oddities - Peculiar Game Glitches: OoT: "Invisible BETABETA" by Steiner Bucket and "Starfox's Arwing in Kokiri Forest" by ChameleonLizard3. ~ Zelda Secrets and Oddities - Unusual Tips and Tricks: OoT: "Kid Link in Gerudo Fortress" by Schon. ~ Zelda Secrets and Oddities - Strange Observations: OoT: "More on 'Cruel Link'" by Jinkondorf.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: *Sniffle* I have work today. *Sniffle* I'd rather stake out both the mall and my book store to see which, if both, have Angel Sanctuary volume 10 which is scheduled for release today on the official website. *Sigh* :\ My sister has today off, I wonder if I can send her off to go retrieve it for me. I've been so looking forward to this volume. ^_^ This series just keeps getting better and better. How depressing, though, it seems that none of Max's buddies have ever heard of the series nor have they read it. I'm all alone in my love for Angel Sanctuary. *Sigh*

MagicFox's Angel Sanctuary Siggy - *Giggle* :3
MagicFox's Angel Sanctuary Manga Review - Whee~ XD

New Outside The Dungeon - TP Characters
October 9, 2005, 7:44 PM EST by StarTears
Updates: Due to life (more on that later), this one was a little delayed, but better late than never? OTD 3 is about the main characters of Twilight Princess, and it includes handy pictures for all of them. Check it out here, or by clicking on Outside the Dungeon in the navigation on the left, and then clicking on Twilight Princess: Characters. Also, feel free to discuss this in OTD topic at the forums.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: This one was pretty fun to write too. Thanks goes to Max for putting it up. Now, about the delay. My 7 month old twins got horribly sick, so I was with them for about a week, which kinda held this article up. They're all better now though, so OTD 4 should be on time. Look forward to it the beginning of November.

Some fantastic Zelda footage, that's a little retro.
October 9, 2005, 1:45 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: So, it may not exactly be Twilight Princess, but it still had me drooling. A video of what appears to be a French Commercial from Nintendo Power, showing off the moves from Zelda64 (Beta Ocarina of Time). Many thanks goes out to Chaotic Death for finding this wonderful video. Within it you'll see the first versions of the Stalfos Knights, the traditional Zelda monster, Gels, that never made it into the final game, and Link's awesome flip from when the Jump feature was still available within the game. And, of course, the obvious lack of Z-Targeting.

Edit: With the revelations of this new video, I have updated the info for the mysterious OoT Beta File 81.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: :\ My video program that I use to rip screens from, won't run this rather old low quality video. I'd love to take screenshots from it and add them to The Beta Zelda Files. *Sniffle* If anyone has any recommendations, please send them. Remember, the video is a .avi format, you WILL NEED the DivX codec in order to view it! (Free download, of course.)

Doing several things at one time. Maybe not so productive?
October 9, 2005, 10:50 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: It seems we just needed that extra week for my poor Mailbag. ^_^ Maybe it's got a chance after all. The first edition has been added to the site! Click, read, enjoy, submit!!

In case you haven't really noticed, I'm slowly loading up all the LttP sprites to the gallery. Not completely done, yet, but with over 200 sprites to add just in this one gallery, give me a break. :P I'm half way done! I've got one more update planned for today. One that will make OoT veterans go ga-ga! ^_^ *smiles smugly* I'm also going to be emptying my mailbox, and you guys know what that means. Stick around! It's going to be a busy day for Max! (God, I love DSL!)

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: It has been a long while since I've actually sat down and ranted about a game. Lately it seems I'm so far behind the times, why bother? I'm not going to waste yours or my time ranting about the fantastic game called Tales of Symphonia, which me and my sister have now logged 50 hours in.

Actually, today I'm going to rant about a computer game, one that I haven't seen on any lists, but I think it deserves some praise... and I'm not even fully immersed in it. The game is called Syberia. My mother enjoys Adventure Company puzzle games... as long as they aren't too hard. Me, I usually feel they are a waste of time. However, she purchased Syberia not too long ago, and though she finished within two weeks, she wouldn't stop RAVING about it. ^_^; And I thought I wasted her time talking about my games.

So, the day before yesterday, I decided to finally give in and just load it up to my computer and see what I would get. Well, first thing, I think I need a new graphics card (big surprise) since there are one or two ticks and errors that I see mostly in the items window. However... o_o I'm not one to say that graphics make a game, but they do matter..... and Syberia is BREATHTAKING. No lies.

I can't give full details on the storyline, but from what I've seen, and the info my mom told me, it has something to do with the automatons factory, the death of its mistress, and trying to search for the new heir. You are playing a Miss Kate who is working for a company to purchase the factory, except the day that she arrives, the mistress has perished. No problem, the company expected this, as long as there wasn't an heir, they could just go ahead... wrong. And now, poor Miss Kate must now find where this "thought-dead" heir is hidden. I haven't gotten any farther than that, but with all the automatons, and the few puzzles I've had to solve... I'm going to have a LOT of fun.

My mother wasn't very kind with her review on the sequal, though, but... it centered around the word "harder". My mom is a casual game player (membership at Pogo Games even), so, I wonder how much "harder" Syberia 2 is and how easy Syberia 1 is. Just don't play the game while you're half asleep. I walked around the same four screens for about an hour before I realized I had what I needed to solve a puzzle anyway... ^_^;; eheh....

The graphics, though, are definitely Myst quality, and I'm extremely impressed. Since the death of my Myst (I REFUSE to acknowledge #4 as a Myst game and I'm not even going to bother picking up #5) this might just be the game I need to drag me out of my depression.

About Forum Registration - Changed
October 7, 2005, 7:45 AM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Due to some small problems with registration on the forums, I changed it so that you do not have to click on a link to activate your account. If you have made an account and not received an e-mail confirmation, then e-mail me and I will be more than happy to activate it for you.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: >_< Waaah!! Gotta run off to work!! ::Dashes off::

The future of Zelda is green..... and annoying....
October 6, 2005, 6:21 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: Famitsu's latest edition released the titles of over thirty upcoming DS games. The list did indeed feature a Zelda title, however, I think the title may very well shock you. Tingle RPG.

Yes, Tingle gets his own spin off story, according to the article! In addition was released this simple screenshot: Famitsu Scan

It would seem that the game is not going to be unlike The Wind Waker's Tingle Tuner. But, don't start running and screaming just yet. Tingle RPG is NOT, nor will it replace, Zelda DS.

Source: Planet GameCube

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: While this news may ... sicken or annoy some... ^_^ I do have some very VERY good news! I now have DSL XD!! What will this mean to the future of MCLoZ? Image Gallery! Videos! ^_^ And more updates! (I won't be fighting against my other family members for the single net connection.)

Affiliation Re-Opened! Nine slots to be filled!
October 4, 2005, 7:25 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: As you can see, I have gone through my affiliation list and taken off the sites that have either been down for a while or have not updated in a while or worked as hard as I felt that they should have.

That opened up four slots and in addition to the new five slots, that makes nine slots! I'm looking for nine wonderful, hard-working sites that may not have the fan base yet they deserve.

I will be scouring the net, asking for opinions, and viewing submittions. If you are interested, please feel free to fill out our form under our Affiliations page.

I wish everyone the best of luck!!

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: ^_^ And... DSL is coming to be turned on around Thursday evening... that is if my dad has everything hooked up by then. :\ . XD Still, I'm excited! Finally be able to surf the net and work on my image gallery as much as I would like.

Good news, good news, but a little bad, too, but then some good!
October 2, 2005, 3:16 PM EST by Maxine MagicFox
Updates: First, it's more than my pleasure to announce yesterday's opening of a really fun site that I just discovered this morning. The Missing Link, webmaster of Zelda: The Grand Adventures, has opened a brand new site, of which I'll be participating frequently. Zelda Blog! A place in which the Zelda community can get together and read and comment on articles posted by webmasters such as TML himself, and Jack of The Desert Colossus.

Later I will be moving the news archives and adding in the month of September now that we are in October. Now, time for the bad news:

Anime and Manga Reviews - I'm sorry, I didn't get the free time that I would have liked in the past weeks and as much as I hate to say it, I haven't even picked a manga or anime that I would have liked to review. I'm sorry, there will be no new review for this month. I'll make it up, though, I promise, with a review and a special edition.

The Mailbag - -_-; One e-mail.... that wasn't really the response that I was hoping for. Umm, no, I'm not even going to bother adding that up yet. So, I'm going to extend the mailbag period and see if anything gets sent in for this month. If it continues to get this very low response, I'll simply close it and be done with it.

Reminders: Be sure to visit our Forums, and submit to our Mailbag!

Commentary: Ok, and one more VERY nice piece of news that will help me with a few of this month's bigger projects: XD I'm going to get DSL sometime in between this or next week! My Mom is going to put in the order tomorrow and then we'll just be sitting and waiting for them to come out and install it. w00t!! XD Excitment! Can't wait!! No more waiting for the net to be free or having to wait for loading times.

This month's big projects: Continuing work on the Image Gallery. I will be starting The Minish Cap Beta Zelda Files and moving the current sprites galleries over to our gallery. Tomorrow I will once again empty my mailbox of Zelda Secrets and Oddities and Link's Infinite List of Tortures.

Another big project to be further announced upon: It seems my affiliates list is VERY outdated and as one or two people have commented, not only are a few of those sites down, but some just aren't updating. That's not fair and I completely agree with you!! So, this month, I will be going through that list and cleaning it out and in addition to that, I will be extending my list from 15 affiliates, to 20. So, at the very least, I will be looking for five more affiliates.

How will I handle this? I WILL reopen our affiliates form. However, I WILL NOT be going by that. It is NOT first come first serve. I will be very selective and in addition to whatever is sent in I will be doing my own search. There are a few very specific things that I'm looking for. Sorry guys, if it looks like you have 400+ visits, I'm probably NOT going to be interested in you. What does that mean? ^_^ I want some kiddies that look like they have a bright future! And I want to give them that oppertunity by giving them full MCLoZ support! No, no, no, I'm not going after n00b sites, don't worry, I'm not dumb, but there's a lot of nice Z sites out there that are struggling and just need a little help. *Sigh* Kinda reminds me of when MCLoZ was first starting. So, I'm going to help them out. I want nice clean cut designs, a nice webmaster giving credit, is updating, may not necessarily have a lot up yet, but looks like he is trying. ^_^ I'm looking forward to this. More on this later! Be on the lookout for my "Affiliation Opened" announcement.
