Bow and Arrows
The Bow, one of the most overused items in the whole game, is obtained in the dungeon 2 of the Goron Mines after you have defeated the miniboss Dangoro.
There are a few things to keep in mind when using your bow, the most important being that your bow's range is longer than that of your enemies. Other things to keep in mind are the three different ways to use fire it. The first way to use the bow is to simple target an enemy and fire a shot. If you keep your button held down, Link will keep the arrow drawn back making for quicker firing.
The second technique is to simple press the button you have the Bow equipped to and you will be launched into first person mode. Easily move your camera all around you and search for your target to fire off a shot while standing still. However, the problem with this technique is the simple fact that - you are standing still, until you learn that holding down the L-button allows you to move! One of the most useful techniques that even stops you at the edge of walkways and cliffs. Completely invaluable since it now allows you to dodge your opponent's attacks in order to utilize the fact that your range is longer than your enemies'.
Bow and Arrow Attachables
The Bow and Arrows set comes with a bunch of capabilities. For example, once you have obtained your first bombs, you can attach the bombs to your arrows for some explosive results. Or, another options you can try, is to purchase the Hawkeye from Kakariko's Malomart for 100 Rupees. Attach this to your bow and you receive sniper-like capabilities where you can zoom your camera in and focus your shot on a pinpoint target. A very invaluable tool when you just want to stand back out of range of your enemies' arrows and take them out.
First Quiver Upgrade
Your first quiver will only allow you to hold 30 arrows. The Bow is the most used weapon in the whole game and this number becomes very insufficient rather quickly. It is best to get your first upgrade, the Big Quiver, as soon as possible.
As soon as you have the Clawshot, make your way to the east corner section of Castle Town where the STAR Tent is located. Go inside and opt to challenge this minigame. Using your newly acquired Clawshot, getting the stars should be very easy. Winning this minigame will give you the Big Quiver which holds up to 60 arrows.
Second Quiver Upgrade
Much, much later in the game, return to the tent when you have the Double Clawshot. Purlo has a second version of the game for you to attempt to try, but it is impossible to do with only the Clawshot. The reward is just as nice as the reward for the first version of the game: the Giant Quiver which holds 100 arrows. Well worth the aggrivation of playing the game.
Bombs and Bags
Once you have completed the second dungeon, Goron Mines, head towards Kakariko Village's Bomb Shop (hard to miss with the sign of a bomb in front of it). Barnes is inside and has now recovered from his stock from the remnants of his destroyed storage shed. For 120 Rupees you can purchase the Premium Kit which not only includes your first Bomb Bag but 30 bombs as well.
Bombs have no real divine purpose other than to, obviously, blow things up! There are three different types of bombs, however. The first is just your basic bomb which can be alternately equipped to your Bow and Arrow set. The second bomb style that you receive before you head off to the third dungeon is a special water bomb which blows up underwater. The third and final bomb is the Bombling, which is essentially a walking bomb and is perhaps the most worthless of all three, but the most fun.
Three Bomb Bags
There are three types of bombs, and to go with them - three different bomb bags, but you can mix and match what ever bomb types you want in them. Here are their locations (not necessarily in this order).
1. Your first bomb bag is purchased with the Premium Kit from Barnes' bomb shop. Easily purchased for 120 Rupees once you have completed the second dungeon.
2. Bomb Bag #2 is easily retrieve as well once you have rid the third area of the Twilight Realm, however, it's in a very unexpected place and will require Water Bombs. From North Hyrule Field use an entrance in the northern wall to access Zora's Domain and to reach the throne room. Enter the pool where you dropped the molten rock to unfreeze the lake and swim down to the very bottom. Put on the Iron Boots and get close to the remnants of the molten rock. Lay a Water Bomb beside the rock and talk to the Goron that pops out of the explosion. He will give you the Bomb Bag as thanks.
3. The final Bomb Bag is minigame related. Go to the Upper Zora River and enter the hut positioned over the river. Inside talk with Iza who asks you for your help in helping clear the river so she can reopen her minigame service. Make it to the bottom while destroying rock baricades with Bomb Arrows (be sure to do a good job for future benefit) and the Zora helper will give you this Bomb Bag as thanks.
Bomb Bag(s) Upgrade
The actual real "upgrade" to the bomb bag is easy once you have acquired the third listed Bomb Bag and you acquire this upgrade that doesn't just upgrade one bag but all three!
Simply go back to Iza's hut and take on her minigame that you helped her reopen! It's somewhat difficult - especially if you didn't properly clear the river from before - but the reward is well worth it. Good luck!
