About the Potion Shops

Hidden throughout the game in both quests are caves in which dwell Old Women who will sell you Life Potions. The Blue Potions cost 40 Rupees, while the Red Potions cost 68 Rupees. At first entering one of these places you will only meet the Old Woman who will not say a single thing to you. Offer her the Letter and Old Man gives you and she will happily sell you potions ever after that all throughout the world. You only need to show her the Letter once, no matter which cave, and you can access her shop. Below are listed not only the Shop Locations but the location of the Letter.

Potion Shop Locations Quest 1

	Finding the Letter
	Located in the North-west edge of Hyrule, at the end of a stairs leading up. To get there from the Starting Screen, go right four times, up five times, right twice, up, right and go up the stairs.

	Potion Shop Location #1
	Finding this Potion Shop requires a Candle. It is also easily located. From the Starting Screen go right once. Burn the bottom right bush that is in the group of four to the left of the scene.

	Potion Shop Location #2
	For most players, this is the first Potion Shop they find. From the Starting Screen go up and left three times.

	Potion Shop Location #3
	A Candle is required to find this Potion Shop. From the Starting Screen go right four times and up three. Burn the third bush going down.

	Potion Shop Location #3
	A Candle is required to find this Potion Shop. From the Starting Screen go right four times and up three. Burn the third bush going down.

	Potion Shop Location #4
	You will need a bomb to reveal this Potion Shop. From the Starting Screen go right, up five times, and left. Bomb the wall in the inside corner of the cliff wall.

	Potion Shop Location #5
	Located conveniently close to Level 6. You will need a bomb to reveal this Potion Shop. From the Starting Screen go right, up five times, left twice, down, left, up, left twice, and down. Bomb the wall in the area shown in the picture.

	Potion Shop Location #6
	You will need a bomb to reveal this Potion Shop, but it's perhaps the most useless one. The placement of this one completely baffles me, but it's in the game and is close to where you got the Letter (one-screen-over close). From the Starting Screen go right four times, up five times, right twice, and up twice.

	Potion Shop Location #7
	Conveniently close to the final dungeon and not much of a secret. To find it go right, up five times, left, up, up the stairs on the other side of the river, and left three times.

Shop Locations Quest 2

Finding the Letter

While the Letter in Quest 1 was fairly easy to find, that is not the case in Quest 2 and is one of the more difficult items to find, and you need the Power Bracelet. From the Starting Screen go up, left four times, down, left, up, left, [up, left, down, left], up three times, right three times, up, right, up, left twice, up, left, down. Move the first block in the arrow-like pattern to reveal the stairs, as shown in the picture.

	Potion Shop Location #1
	As located in Quest 1. Finding this Potion Shop requires a Candle. It is also easily located. From the Starting Screen go right once. Burn the bottom right bush that is in the group of four to the left of the scene.

	Potion Shop Location #2
	As located in Quest 1. For most players, this is the first Potion Shop they find. From the Starting Screen go up and left three times.

	Potion Shop Location #3
	As located in Quest 1. A Candle is required to find this Potion Shop. From the Starting Screen go right four times and up three. Burn the third bush going down.

	Potion Shop Location #4
	As located in Quest 1. Located conveniently close to Level 6. You will need a bomb to reveal this Potion Shop. From the Starting Screen go right, up five times, left twice, down, left, up, left twice, and down. Bomb the wall in the area shown in the picture.

	Potion Shop Location #5
	As located in Quest 1. You will need a bomb to reveal this Potion Shop, but it's perhaps the most useless one. The placement of this one completely baffles me, unless you visit it on your way to Level 4. From the Starting Screen go right four times, up five times, right twice, and up twice.

	Potion Shop Location #6
	As located in Quest 1. While it was helpful in Quest 1, it's not really that great in Quest 2 and probably pointless. To find it go right, up five times, left, up, up the stairs on the other side of the river, and left three times.

	Potion Shop Location #7
	You will need the flute for this one. From the Starting Screen go right, up five times, and right. In this screen, play your flute to reveal the stairs.

	Potion Shop Location #8
	For this one to be any help you will need bombs and Stepladder. From the Starting Screen, go right, up five times, left, up, and right. Bomb the wall as shown in the image and use the Stepladder to get inside.

	Potion Shop Location #9
	Like in Quest 1 where there was a Potion Shop close to Level 9, this is the one for Quest 2, and it's close to the Letter as well. From the Starting Screen go up, left four times, down, left, up, left, [up, left, down, left], up three times, right three times, up, right, up, left twice, and up. Bomb the wall as shown in the picture.
