Heart Piece Locations
Clock Tower Deck -
Once you have given the Deku Scrub Salesman in Clock Town his Moon's Tear, use the Deku Flower to jump up onto this deck.
North Clock Town -
Once you have returned to Link form you can jump from the slide to the tree and nab it.
Swordsman's School -
For 10 Rupees nab a perfect score and win this one as the prize.
Post Office -
Go here at between 6:00 p.m. and midnight and play the timing game. Hint: If you wear the Bunny Hood it isn't so difficult.
Stock Pot Inn -
Oh, lovely...this one was definitely thought up by the Japanese. Ok, sneak into the Stock Pot Inn at midnight and a hand reaches out. This poor helpless guy is in some serious trouble. I guess the Inn is low on funds. Give him a Title Deed or a letter to cure what ales him.
Clock Town Postbox -
Once you have gained the Postman's Hat check any of the postboxes in town and be rewarded for your good service to the community. (Now who would have simply discarded this valuable piece of property?)
Rosa Sisters -
Win Kamaro's Mask and dance with the Rosa Sisters on Day 1 or Day 2 from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Mayor Dotour -
Wear the Couple's Mask to settle the argument in the Mayor's house located in East Clock Town. The meeting is held: Day 1 and 2 at 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.; Day 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Keaton Quiz -
The ghost fox, Keaton, hides in three areas in some jumpy bushes. The three locations are: North Clock Town, Milk Road, and Mountain Village. Wear the Keaton Mask and destroy all of the bushes before they escape to make him appear. Once he pops up he will ask you some questions. (Check the Keaton Quiz section for the cheat sheat.)
Grandma's 1st Story -
Visit Stock Pot Inn on Day 1 or 2 during the day and wear the All-Night Mask. Listen to the first story and then answer "On the eve of the carnival".
Grandma's 2nd Story -
The same as above, only choose the other story and say "I dunno" to win the piece.
West Clock Town Bank -
Save up to 5000 rupees in the bank and you will receive this heart piece.
Deku Scrub Playground -
Located in North Clock Town, fly over the fence to find a hole. Score the best time all three days and you win!
Treasure Chest Shop -
Play as Darmani. For a better view of the labyrinth, hold Z.
Town Shooting Gallery -
Score a perfect 50 in the town Octorok shooting game and you win a piece of heart.
Honey & Darling's Shop -
Earn the highest score three days in a row and you win!
Deku Scrub Grotto -
While looking through the telescope, aim to the left side of the clock tower to watch a Deku Scrub and discover his hideout. Enter the hole and he'll offer you a piece of heart for 150 rupees, refuse and he'll give you it for 100.
Giant Gossip Stones -
There are four grottoes in which are located four Gossip Stones. Play the song of what ever mask you are wearing (no Link is not a mask) and one of the rocks change color. Locate the other three grottoes and play the same song in the same fashion. When all of the stones are the same color you will earn a heart piece.
Pea Hat Grotto -
Near the south of Termina Field there is a hidden hole with butterflies flying around. Drop into it and fight a Pea Hat to earn a heart piece.
Dodongo Grotto -
Go to the north of Termina Field and hop into a whole located in the icy terrain. Inside you will find two giant dodongos. Defeat them and not only do you get two purple rupees, but a heart piece as well.
Bio Deku Baba Grotto -
Near the entrance to the Great Bay Coast you see a rock, bomb it to reveal a whole. Inside kill the Bio Deku Babas and shoot the beehive to collect a Heart Piece.
Road to the Swamp -
On the road that leads into the Southern Swamp tere is a dead tree. Careful! Shoot the bat first or he will be awaiting your arrival with great anticipation. At the top is pure victory!
Trading Game: Four Heart Pieces -
Start the Deku Scrub Trading Game by first giving the Moon's Tear to the Deku Scrub in South Clock Town. He will give you the a Land Title Deed.
- Trade the Clock Town Title Deed to the Deku in the Southern Swamp with no masks on. Fly up to the roof to collect this heart piece.
- In Goron Village wear the Deku Scrub mask and trade the Swamp Title Deed. Fly up to a ledge to receive the heart piece.
- In Zora Hall wear the Goron Mask and trade the Goron Village Title Deed. Fly up to a deck to collect your heart piece.
- In Ikana Canyon wear the Zora mask and trade the Zora Hall Title Deed and fly over across the river to reach the heart piece.
Pictograph Contest -
Wanna win the Pictograph contest? Take a picture of his son or of the Deku King. (Hint: the Pictograph man's son claims to be just like Link and says some mysterious words.) Answer: Tingle
Inner Deku Palace Garden -
Sneak past the guards in the western part of the Inner Deku Palace Garden and receive a heart piece for your good thieving skills!
Woodfall -
When you enter to the left will be a chest containing a Piece of Heart. You can only get there by traveling along the planks along the edge of the bog.
Boat Cruise -
After you have restored the fresh water of the Southern Swamps, Koume will open up a new feature to the boat cruise. Another shooting game. Hit the target 20 times to win.
Swamp Shooting Gallery -
In the shooting gallery in the Southern Swamp, nab a perfect score to win a quiver upgrade. Do it again to win the ultimate prize.
Goron Pond -
Once you have defrosted the Mountain, go to the pond outside the Mountain Village as Mikau and open the chest.
The Frog Choir -
Once you have collected the Don Gero's Mask and restored spring to the community of the Moutain people, wear the mask in front of five frogs to get them to head back for their choir. The locations are as follows:
- One is at the pond already
- Clock Town's Laundry Pool
- In the Southern Swamp leading to the Deku Palace, a frog sits on a log --(nevermind).
- The Mini-Boss in the Woodfall Temple after you defeat him.
- The Mini-Boss in the Great Bay Temple after you defeat him.
Snowhead Scarecrow -
Earn the Scarecrow's song and with the Lens of Truth, head over to the Goron-Jump-Ride Location. (The area leading to the Snowhead Temple.) Before the final jump, use the Lens of Truth to stare off at a platform a ways off. Platforms will appear. Play the Scarecrow's Song when you're there and hit it with the hookshot to get it to talk.
Zora Jam Session -
Enter Mikau's room and read his diary to learn a few new notes. Enter Japa's room and bring out Mikau's guitar. Japas will play the first half of a song you play the notes you learned. Now, take the finished song to Evan (must not be Mikau). Play it for him and you earn a piece of heart.
Like Like -
at the foot of the waterfall outside the beaver brothers' home there is a Like Like at the bottom of a recess. Kill it and win a prize!
Pirates' Fortress -
In the Pirates' Fortress you will come to a room with a heart locked in a cage. Go up the stairs and break the barrels as Darmani to unblock a switch. Activate it, put on the Bunny Hood and run as fast as your little bunny legs can carry you. (Personally, I love watching bunnies run...but they aren't very fast in the long scheme of things...yum! -Sorry, a little fox humor there-)
Pinnacle Rock -
Defeat all the sea snakes in the lair to rescue the trapped sea horse.
Oceanside Spider House -
Wear the Captain's Hat to talk to the Stalchildren to figure out the combination of of colored masks you are suppose to hit.
Marine Research Lab -
Uhh...yeah...ok, catch fish and feed them to the two larch fish in the aquarium. One of them will eventually get so large it will eat the other fish and you win a heart piece.
Great Bay Jumping Game -
Once you defeat the Great Bay Temple, a boat will show up a little north to the Research lab. Ride over to the fisherman's island and play his game.
Beaver Race -
Race the beavers. You only win the heart piece if you finish the older brother's race in one minute and fifty seconds or less.
Great Bay Cliff Side -
Near the Great Bay jumping game you will find a cliff side with many ledges. Plant and water magic bean to ride over to the neightboring ledge. Summon a scarecrow and use it to reach the heart piece.
Ikana Graveyard -
Either first or second day, can't remember, use the Captain's Hat to command the Stalchildren to dig the graves. Use the Lens of Truth to make your way through the cavern and use a bomb to blast a fake wall. Battle the Iron Knuckle to win a Heart Piece.
Spirit House -
In Ikana Canyon there is a hut that overlooks the Music Box House, this is the Ghost Hut. Defeat the four Poe sisters in the time limit and do not allow your hearts to drop below the third you will win the Heart Piece.
Ikana Castle Columns -
At the roof of the Ikana Castle you will see a switch. Hit it to extinguish the fire of a nearby pillar. Use the Deku Flowers to fly to the Heart Piece.
Secret Shrine -
Obtain the Light Arrow and head for the Octorok dock and swim to the left. Enter the cave and venture behind the waterfall. Open the door with a Light Arrow and defeat the enemies in all four rooms. There is Dinofols, Wizrobe, Wart, and Garo Master. (Note: you must have a certain amount of hearts to enter the Garo Master's room. I will update as soon as I figure out how many. The book has 17.)
Doggy Race! -
In Romani Ranch there is a Dog Race from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Win at least 150 rupees and you win the Heart piece. Hint: use the Mask of Truth. There is a certain key phrase the dogs will have when you pick them up and read their thoughts. For me I can pick up the phrase, it must say something about it being able to win. If you are not as good as I am, the fastest dogs start their thoughts with "Ruff!"
Moon Dungeon: Four Heart Pieces -
Each of the dungeons on the moon has a heart piece.
- Deku: In the far-right corner. Use the Deku Flowers to reach it.
- Goron: Roll on the ramps until you reach the rear-left corner.
- Zora: Swim left, left, right, and left.
- Link: After battling the three enemies and uncovering switches with Bombchu, you'll reach the Piece of Heart.
