Item Locations and Information
Hero's Sword The first you receive in the game. Nothing special about it. You receive it when you explore the Hero's Cave southwest of Horon Village.
Noble Sword The second sword you can receive in the game. Not only is it more powerful but it also shoots out beams. Receive it by completing the Trading Sequence.
Wooden Shield The standard shield and apparently only wooden. You can buy this in the local Horon Village shop for 20 Rupees.
Iron Shield An upgrade to the Wooden Shield that is able to block things that it couldn't before. You receive this upgrade by finding the Red and Blue Ores hidden in east and west Subrosia, and mix them to create Hard Ore which you take to the Subrosian Smithy.
Bombs Pretty basic item. Use them to blow holes in cracked walls and blocks or defeat certain enemies. You can receive them in chests in dungeons or buy them at the Horon Village Shop.
Seed Satchel Holds up to five different seed times and can receive two upgrades to hold more of these seeds. Received in Level 1: Gnarled Root Dungeon. Below are listed the seeds which can be found growing on trees throughout the world.
Ember Seeds Use these to set fire to enemies, lamps, or bushes that are growing in your way.
Scent Seeds Drop one of these seeds and certain, not all, enemies will head towards it trying to attack it, ignoring Link. If used right not only can you make enemies avoid you but you can also send them rushing to their deaths. (I'm guessing it's Link-scented?)
Pegasus Seeds Using one of these seeds will allow our little hero to run much faster than he did before. Very useful in evasion and even more useful to use to complete timed things.
Gale Seeds Using one of these creates a Gale that will drop you at any Seed Tree location you have already found during your explorations. Really useful for getting around Holodrum quickly.
Mystery Seeds What they will do is a mystery. Using these on things can have many different effects, but it's main purpose is to be used on Owl Statues if you need a hint about what to do in a dungeon.
Boomerang The usual Boomerang. Good for stunning and killing enemies, hitting switches, and bringing items to you. Who can't love the Boomerang? You receive it as a prize for completeing the dance in the Subrosia Dance Hall.
Magical Boomerang The Boomerang goes remote-controlled! Very sweet upgrade. Hold down the button and use the control pad to move the boomerang around and do some fancy cut-corner tricks. Can be a little testy, though, when it hits something and returns immediate control over Link - I've lost the poor hero into a pit like that many times. Received in Level 6: Ancient Ruins.
Wand of Seasons Has the power to change the seasons when Link is standing on top of a tree stump. Received in the Temple of Seasons. The same with the four Season attachements you have to collect by finding different ways into the Temple.
Shovel Yes, a shovel. Needed if you are to dig your way through annoying snow drifts. You can also use it to dig up the earth and collect Rupees and other things that might pop out - enemies included.
Power Bracelet Use to push things without, including pots which does not even require it to be used as long as it's in your possession. Also allows you to pick up things. Received in Level 2: Snake's Remains.
Roc's Feather Used to allow you to jump a single space, though you can jump farther if you use it with a Pegasus Seed. Received in Level 3: Poison Moth's Lair.
Roc's Cape An interesting upgrade to the Roc's Feather. It allows you to float for quite a distance and if used with the Pegasus Seeds, there's not much of any place you can reach. Sometimes a little difficult to control, though. Received in Level 7: Explorer's Crypt. (Cape? It looks more like wings when he uses it and I think it's named "wings" in the Japanese version. Bloody translators.)
Slingshot See a switch but the boomerang can't reach it, or need to light a torch you can't reach? Use this with a Seed to shoot it in the needed direction. Very useful. Received in Level 4: Dancing Dragon Dungeon.
Hyper Slingshot An upgrade to the Slingshot. Instead of just shooting one Seed at a time, why not try three? Received in Level 8: Sword & Shield Maze.
Magnetic Gloves With the purpose of the Hookshot in previous Zelda games, this item has received a peculiar twist. While it does deliver loose items to you, you can pull yourself towards certain polarized objects, or even pull them toward you. Ok, and also push yourself away from them. If you're careful you can do the switch even in mid-air. Also can have an effect on some enemies. Received in Level 5: Unicorn's Cave.
Strange Flute Can be turned into one of three flutes that has the power to call a certain animal-companion to you wherever you are in the world... as long as the location agrees with the creature. Which creature this flute calls depends on the location you found it which is listed below.
Ricky's Flute To receive this creature's flute all you have to do is not have a Strange Flute when you first talk to Ricky.
Dimitri's Flute To receive Dimitri's flute you must win the Strange Flute as a prize from the Subrosian Dance Hall.
Moosh's Flute In order to receive this flute you must buy the Strange Flute from the Horon Village Shop.

Linked-Game Items List
Master Sword (Only if you have the Noble Sword, otherwise the two switch places.) This sword causes 3 times the damage than the Wooden Sword.
Mirror Shield (Only if you have the Iron Shield, otherwise the two switch places.) The final upgrade to the Shield which blocks almost all enemy attacks.
Biggoron's Sword A special huge sword that does not upgrade from your original. Causes four times the damage but because it is so big, when it is equipped no other item can be equipped or used.
Bombchu A special Bomb that moves and explodes as soon as it comes in contact with something. (But I find it pretty useless and not worth the time of getting it.)
